One day from installation and the water failed. A tiny stream is all there is Should have bought different brand.

As you have a new installation, we recommend making sure the cradle on the dispenser has been held down for 2 to 3 minutes to fill the reservoir completely. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is the perfect size for my kitchen and my use. The water and ice in the door are a new feature for me. My last refrigerator was over 25 years old and did not have this. It is nice to always have ice ready and not have to fill ice cube trays that usually would spill as I put them in the freezer. Being a side-by-side unit, it is easier to see just what I have in the freezer without having to move items around or forget what is in there in the back or under other items. I can control the temperature of either side without having to even open the doors.

OK - Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I'd seen this in person before buying. I don't particularly like the curved front. The style doesn't look good in my kitchen and seems to reduce storage capacity. Although the dimensions are supposedly the same as my last refrigerator, I seem to have less useable space. Not really impressed so far, but it's working fine.

RUST and Fingerprint resistant coating falling off

Be aware that GE provides a 1 week warranty on "surface defects". Six months after my purchase, the fingerprint resistance coating has failed on the freezer side. It comes off when I clean using products recommended in the Operating Manual. There are also rust spots. When I try to clean the rust spots per the Operating Manual instructions, more of the coating comes off. My six month old refrigerator looks 15+ years old. I am told Quality Product Engineers are reviewing photos of my
freezer door. They have provided no information as to how I am supposed to clean my refrigerator in the mean time. Nor have they provided a timeframe when I will receive a response.

We recommend you continue to work with the GE Appliances team with whom you have been working regarding your refrigerator. In the meantime, review the cleaning instructions found on page 17 of the online Owner's Manual which says to use warm water and a mild detergent to clean your fingerprint resistant stainless finish. We do not recommend using any other cleaning products as it could damage the finish.
