GARBAGE, MAKES NOISE AND GE WARRANTY IS HORRIBLE

Refrigerator makes a loud humming noise when running. Called GE for a repair within warranty - they sent repair person - he said "this is how this model works the compressor makes a loud noise when its running". I called GE again they said there is nothing they can do if the rest of the unit works properly - which it does. However, it is unacceptable to have to listen to the loud noise even if it works properly. It was brand new. So we are likely throwing this one out. Do not buy this cheaply made refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to assist you with the sound level of your refrigerator. A humming, buzzing, or vibrating sound only lasting around 5 seconds on this model can occur if the icemaker is turned on but the water is not connected. The sound is caused by an isolation valve that is designed to help prevent major leaks from the filter. To correct this, turn the icemaker off until water is connected to the fridge.

Great fridge

Love the refrigerator but smaller inside. A 9x13 cannot be put in the long side front to back has to go in horizontal and takes up the whole shelf. Other than that love the refrigerator but smaller than expected.

Love my new GE Side X Side fridge/freezer! It replaces a 35 yr old version and has improved sooo much. The counter depth looks great in my new kitchen.

We love how big it it compared to the one we had with the freezer on the bottom. The French design is horrible with no freezer space. The side by side door fridge is the way to go.
