No 1 Dependable True Friend

Just installed 10/03/24 my new GE side by side counter depth refrigerator and so far so good. I have owned GE Refrigerators, Washer and dryers, dish washer for over 40 years and my only fault I can fine is, can you make them last more than 14 years. I am 85 and I miss new improvements along the way but don’t mind as they become members of the family. From my children’s early school drawings on the refrigerator door in 2nd grade still there when they get to high school. I’m afraid my new one will outlast me.

After 48 hours, side by side meets expectations

The side by side is as described. The interior is laid out well to maximize a smaller space (counter depth). I chose this model, because it has 3 drawers in the refrigerator, and many other makes/models do not. However, the plastic drawers do not slide as easily as I expected. The ice dispenser quickly puts out ice. The water dispenser is slow.
One frustration is how labor intensive it was to untape, unwrap and install the shelves.
For the price, it is five stars.

So far so good. I've had this refrigerator for about two months now. I bout this to replace an extremely noisy Whirlpool. This one is very quiet but does make some noise I guess when making ice. Overall I'm happy with the size, the look and performance thus far. It may be on the small size for larger families though but perfect for me and my family of three. I would give five stars if I had it longer but too soon to rave as excellent.
