Purchased this refrigerator in hopes that it will last as long as my previous one...22 years. Live the larger space inside...holds more and the lighting is great.

Looks good but didn't deliver

The unit showed up with a faulty water filter, which prevented the fridge from making ice or water. That happy first day of delivery moment was not fun trying to figure out why those things weren't working, only to figure out later it was the water filter that was defective from the manufacturer. Also, I place a temp gauge in my fridge to see where the interior temp is, and despite setting the panel at 33degrees, it never dips below 39. Not happy about that either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freezer Temperature Setting Doesn't Work

The refrigerator part works great and the size is perfect for our small home, but we've had nothing but issues with the freezer. The temperature setting isn't working, despite eventually setting it at the highest temp and unplugging it numerous times to thaw/reset it. I have to scrape out the built up frost and ice several times per week and it prevents the ice maker from working properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My 22-year-old GE Profile refrigerator had to be replaced and this new one fit in the tight built-in space perfectly!! The stainless look is nice. Very spacious inside. Love the water/ice cube features.

like but some features i don't

I love my refrigerator., I like the shelves for easy cleaning., however, I don't believe it gets cold enough. Even though the temperature said it's colder, my elder refrigerator kept my milk nice and cold. I find things more on the warm side. I've lost lunch meat already at 35 degrees. And I. used to be able to keep it much longer in my old fashioned refrigerator.
The other downside is that? it says it's finger proof smudge proof, which. it is not. You barely touch the refrigerator and there is marks all over it. My daughter has a different brand that he has a little rougher finish than this. It doesn't show anything. So it's not my favorite. because I have neuropathy in my hands. Sometimes it makes it difficult And I noticed the dirt sticks on the handles terribly because of the finish that it has. Course I had an I had a white side by side. So other than that, it functions. OK, I think the ice maker takes entirely too much room. but that was my mistake by getting countered up. But I would have looked better for if I thought the space was as combatable as the picture was till I got the counter depth and find out the ice maker takes up that extra level because it being counter deaf, then the ice maker's too big. I would have preferred an ice maker that I could shut the switch off and pull the tray out. I don't like this because you gotta lift and tug and pull.

A 3rd Generation GE Refridge Mainstay

We’ve owned two other GE refrigerators previously over the last 45 years, but this model may be the quietest and smoothest yet in terms of also maintaining consistent coldness levels.
This newest side-by-side also features some cool and helpful lighting displays on the tops and sides of each compartment, making it easier find certain packed food and produce items. Plenty of drawers, shelves are convenient on the inner compartments, but the design of door shelves on each side may be the best design of the refrigerator.
Very happy (so far) that we’ve stayed with the GE refrigerator brand!
