An ok side by side refrigerator

I needed a new refrigerator as the one I had (Kitchenaid surperba) for 19 years was making a ticking noise. The cost to try repairing it didn't warrant it so I decided to get a new one. I read reviews and the GE seemed to be the best fit. The price was good as well as the features and the overall look of it. The shelves on my new model are difficult to maneuver. I feel I don't have as much interior space as my old one. Ice cream starts melting if I put it on the shelf nearest the ice maker although the temperature readings are exactly what they should be. I was told refrigerators are now designed to last 7-10 years. Hopefully I'll have a little more time to research the newest models in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are so happy to get another GE side by side Refrigerator/Freezer. Spacious interior with great adjustable shelves. Well designed to store all your food and beverages. The pull out shelves are very nice to access food in the back. The Water dispenser flows well, and Ice maker freezes Ice quickly. The new style Brushed Stainless Steel is great at hiding fingerprints. This is our second GE side by side Refrigerator/Freezer. Our last one lasted over 20 years.
