It has been great so far. We had a french door for a while and I like being back to this type. I feel like we can get more in it. I hope it last a long time like the other GE appliances I've had.

GE Expect Great Things Always

We received this refrigerator on December 3rd, 2023. So far we are very impressed with it's looks and service. Even though we have not had it that long we are long time GE customers and we hope that this refrigerator last as long as the last GE refrigerator did. It has lasted nearly 20 years. Nore important is the fact that my wife loves the clean look and is very pleased with how it appears in her kitchen.

Great refrigerator once I solved the noise problem

Refrigerator started out with a buzzing/vibration sound that occurred when the compressor was running. A Tech checked the refrigerator and ruled out the compressor. I noticed other people have had a similar issue. I discovered the noise could be dampened by holding my hand along the side walls on the lower half of the refrigerator. I removed the refrigerator drawers and reinstalled them one at a time. Discovered that the bottom drawer was not fully closed when it look like it was closed. An additional push on the upper left and right corners of the drawer made the drawer close/jump about 1/4 inch. Doing this additional close procedure on the bottom drawer has eliminated the buzzing/vibrating sound that was driving us crazy. Now all I need to do is decide if this is "normal" or if the drawer and associated rails should be replaced. If you experience a loud buzzing/vibrating noise, I suggest you reinstall your refrigerator drawers (simple to do). Except for this problem, which is now hopefully fixed, I would give the refrigerator 5 stars. The Slate is fingerprint free, color is great, the counter depth refrigerator and freezer is the perfect size for our household of two, the water/ice dispenser is working fine.

After reading some negative reviews I am surprised what a great refrigerator this is, very quiet. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars is the crushed ice option does not crush the ice as well as my old Whirlpool refrigerator. Other than that, it has been fantastic.
