Just what we needed!

So far this refrigerator is meeting our expectations. We had space limitations that we had to work with, forcing us to pick a smaller capacity refrigerator than our last model. Although smaller, it is working out nicely!

So far so good, but so was our last refrigerator (LG) until we were 5 years in. Pay no attention to this review- ask me in 5 years how we like it.

It's nice to finally, after all these years have a kitchen set completely match. This refrigerator is so quiet - we love how fast the crushed/cubed ice dispenses from the shoot - and how fast the water stream is. Fills up a glass very quick.

WATER FILTER RIPOFF

Having had this fridge for 5.5 months am generally happy with it. Looks good, runs quiet and the ice maker generates enough ice for the two of us. What I am extremely disappointed in is the fact that this has GE's RFID filter in it, which means that to continue to enjoy filtered water, I HAVE to buy an OVERPRICED GE filter. This is an absolutely terrible way to go about this business and quite honestly GE should be ashamed of itself - OR at the very least clearly disclose this so that consumers know what they are getting into. In all honesty, if I had known about this I probably wouldn't bought it. They do offer a free filter bypass plug so the fridge will continue to dispense water and make ice BUT it will not be filtered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The reason our new line of filters use RFID technology actually performs multiple tasks that help enhance your filter experience. First, this allows us to enable leak detection technology to help stop a leak as it occurs. Second, RFID helps prevent the use of counterfeit filters. Buying filters from an outside source means that you run the risk of coming across a counterfeit. The article below goes into more detail about this issue.
