We're very happy with our purchase. After tons of research, we chose this particular model. Reliability and durability are the two most important factors for me. GE uses Embraco compressors, which are very reliable. The lighting is awesome and the ice maker is smooth and quiet...works great! There was a small cosmetic flaw on the freezer door, but it is being handled.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great fridge but makes a loud noise!

I purchased my fridge several weeks ago and it immediately started making loud noise that was coming from the back of the fridge. I have since called GE to have someone come out and check the applicance. I hope this resolves the problem because I really like the fridge. Fingers crossed.

Close to perfect

Great storage organization, with one exception: the shelves in the refrigerator side can't be removed without stressing the door. The door doesn't open wide enough to remove the shelves unless you force it. This scared me, but apparently worked ok: I wouldn't want to have to do it more than once. (The freezer side doesn't have the problem.)
The display shows either the set temperature (freezer and fridge) or the actual temperature, but it won't continuously display the info: the display turns off after a few seconds. I'd like to be able to just glance at the display and confirm the actual temperature without having to hit a button.

Very cheaply made. Every bin inside has cracked and broken, so the drawers just sit on top of each other because they no longer slide closed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE counter depth Great Refrigerator

The GE counter depth side by side had great reviews. The smaller compact interior makes it easy to keep clean and organized. The LED lighting is super bright and seniors will appreciate the good interior lighting in the fridge and freezer sections. I definitely recommend this product.
