Does the job but be careful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this product because I wanted to see about using it for the holidays with family over. I read the directions but was still surprised at how quickly it heats up and how hot the surface gets. It function fine but my 7 year old touched it before I had the chance to warn him. The warning “hot surface” is printed small and low. So I’m not sure how I feel about using this product at large gatherings as there will be many children.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This urn does coffee right!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This urn is a workhorse, took barely an hour to brew 45 cups and kept it piping hot for hours even after unplugged. Was easy to load the grinds, and the coffee was robust (I like strong roasts). Cleaning was easy as well. My only recommendation-shrink the spout and move it up an inch or two for those of us with bigger coffee mugs. That would make it perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted a pot like this one as I am a really heavy coffee drinker. Also, I have a bad habit of breaking glass carafes so I don't go looking for those kinds of coffee makers. This is a perfect coffee maker for those of us that not only like a lot of coffee, like when we have coffee drinking company, or just for ourselves if we drink a lot of coffee, but also might have a problem with glass carafes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Great Cup of Joe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Hamilton Beach Coffee Urn yesterday and couldn't wait to give it a spin.
Its a clean, easy to use, well-designed product. It brewed 35 cups of Maxwell House coffee (our preferred store brand) in about 25 minutes, a good speed for a large coffee urn. I like the fact that you can dispense coffee by pushing the cup against the dispensing lever, or just pull it forward. Both ways produced a well-heated cup.
My wife and I prefer a stronger cup of coffee, so I bolstered the directions with about 1/3 cup more than the stated amount.
The coffee came out a deep dark black-brown color and was steaming. The flavor was surprisingly good, for an everyday brand of coffee, given the large volume produced.
I know that when we have parties and large gatherings this will be a major hit.
