I didn’t want an external ice and water dispenser but this had Althea ice maker and a water dispenser. We don’t use the water dispenser but really like the ice maker. It is really large enough both in the freezer and the fridge.
I would definitely give this a 2 thumbs up and recommend this model others.

Love The Space--Hate The Filter Placement Routine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator on July 10. I live on Maui so it was not delivered until September 6. Although it is advertised as having the same interior space as the door-in-a-door fridge it replaced, it is much smaller and when I saw it my heart sank. Surprise! I can get so much more in it and it is all more easily accessible. I love the space! It is very quiet. Even though I'm getting ready to request a service call because only the back four ice cubes are getting made, it is making more ice faster than the 2-year old fridge it replaced. I can't wait to have it producing ice at full capacity. The only reason I took a star off (and I debated taking two off) is because of the filter. It is inside the fridge. We remodeled our previous house and then ended up moving, so this is the fourth refrigerator I have had in the last three years with the filter inside the box. YOU HAVE TO PULL THE FRIDGE OUT FROM THE WALL AND TURN THE WATER OFF AND THEN BACK ON EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE THE FILTER. I have never heard of this so it never occurred to me to check on it. My husband and I are in our sixties and are not thrilled to have to go through this routine every time the filter needs replacing. Although I love everything else, this will be a real pain for us. I think it would be much appreciated if LG could devise some sort of retrofit kit so that a new filter can be put in without having to put some sort of pad on the floor, pulling out a heavy fridge, turning the water off and on, and then pushing it back. Otherwise, this is a great refrigerator!
