Does NOT disappoint!

A great icemaker

Works Great - Quality Not as Good as Older Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine to replace my older (2007) KitchenAid 18" automatic ice maker. Upon delivery of the appliance, I noticed the packaging was rather beat up so I gave the appliance a good look over and only found a minor dent to casing that would be hidden in the cabinet, so I decided to keep it since supply of these is very low right now. However, I did notice that the front door quality was not nearly equal to my old machine. The upper outer corners of the door are unfinished and very sharp and also the handle looked like something that belonged on a roll around tool chest. Fortunately, the old door was easily swapped on to the new machine with finished corners and a much nicer handle that matches all of my other KitchenAid appliances. I also had to swap the door liner from the new door to the old door due to a magnet that is embedded in the liner that activates the internal light as well as the "Door Open" alarm. Also due to the rough handling of the machine during shipment, I noticed the pump on the bottom of the water tray had popped out (see attached picture). It was easy enough to reinstall. The rest of the components of the machine appear to be in good condition. Otherwise, once plugged in, the machine is working great so far.

A Great Replacement
