Standalone Ice Maker Makes My Husband Happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband has to have "good" ice and we both love the Kitchenaid Ice Maker ice! We've had a standalone ice maker in our family room since buying our home in 1996. Our last Kitchenaid standalone ice maker was purchased in 2005 after the ice maker that came with the house broke (wasn't a Kitchenaid). This year, the machine stopped working. Repair man stated we needed a new compressor. We decided it was time to change out instead of doing the repair especially when we saw the changes made to the ice maker. Previously we had installed 2 water filters on the line to the ice maker. I'm sure that helped extend its life besides the cleanings. When I saw the new ice makers came with an installed filter, I was so pleased. We're still using the 2 water filters but with one in the ice maker itself, I feel like we'll really see longevity in the machine. Our old machine was not as well insulated as the new one. We could hear the ice drop and the water click on from downstairs. The new one is so silent that I kept checking on it every night to make sure it was operating. I was surprised to read reviews about the nose. Ours is installed in a bar and I can barely hear any noise standing next to it. One again I have a happy husband with his perfect ice.

Love my ice machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had a KitchenAid Ice Machine for almost 20 years and when it was no longer repairable, we ordered a new machine. The new machine seems quieter and makes more ice per day than the older model. We really missed having the convenience of virtually unlimited ice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replace our trusty KitchenAid icemaker with the latest model. Better than ever! The water filter on the top front above the bin is awesome. During its first day on the job it filled the bin to the brim. Party!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old ice machine lasted about 30 years. Parts were no longer available. I bought this one as a replacement. I installed it myself with few problems. It makes ice quickly. The unit is much quieter than the old one. It looks great with the stainless steel door.

Great ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third ice maker. They last about 12-15 years! I loved my first one, my second one and now this one. Once I got hooked on this ice I can't go back and have regular ice. I know that this appliance is a luxury but I work hard and this is well deserved. My ice maker is the most used appliance in my kitchen.

Love, Love, Love this Icemaker

We have had our KitchenAid Ice Maker over 14 years. It is awesome!! If you take care of it and perform the preventive maintenance when the lights signal it needs cleaning the ice maker will become an instant favorite for your entire family. Even the dogs (7) love ice in their water. I love all of our KitchenAid appliances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You will love this machine it works great, it makes lots of ice quickly. I replaced the one I had for 38 years, I hope this one lasts that long.
If your adding this ice machine under a counter use flex line. not copper tubing, your drain hose needs to be changed for a 3 1/2 foot one, and finally you will have to made your own mounting bracket like you would with a dishwasher.
