[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Breville - The Tea Maker to try and I wasn't sure how it was going to be. I usually make tea using tea kettle on the stove and use either a tea bag or loose tea in an infuser. Well, let me tell you it is amazing - it has a variable temperature for all tea varieties, adjustable tea strength, large 4 cup capacity, and a tea basket cycle. I will only be using The Tea Maker from now on!! I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this efficient and useful tea brewer. You can brew up a strong pot to later pour over ice for your own wonderful iced tea! Certainly it's great for hot tea and a large group too. Easy to use and to clean and no watching or listening for the tea pot. Just set it and relax.

Who cares about the leaves at the bottom of the carafe:) If you really love to drink tea, you won't have to worry about such a little problem. By the way, the carafe has a strainer filter, and there is no way the leaves can get into the cup. If the tea is too weak, it means you have put in very little tea leaves or the tea quality is not good enough. So stop whining, buy a good leaves tea and enjoy your cup of tea.

Favorite housewarming gift

I recently bought my third house with my realtor/friend who gave me the Breville compact tea maker as a housewarming gift. Today after decoration for the holidays I tried it out with a pot of chai. It was fantastic--- easy, fast and perfectly brewed. It will be on my gift list in the future for weddings and Christmas.
I didn't realize how much the right temperature impacts tea. I use it all the time now. Hope it came with instructions on how to use it. Still learning.
I have been buying tea leaves in tins and bags for a long time. I never learned to enjoy coffee. For a long time I drank bad tea made from bags. And I steeped them wrong! The tea that I steeped from leaves often had too much tannin or bitterness. I didn't get green tea at all. Then my daughter bought me the Breville tea maker. I blame myself for being too lazy all these years to get the timings and the temperatures right. I spent good money on tea and teapots. For less than optimal results. Once I had the Breville Tea Maker, I found out why. Suddenly black teas had strong but not overpowering flavor. Oolong reminded me of what oolong was supposed to taste like. Green tea now had a special flavor, as did the Pai-Mu-Tan I had been so hit and miss with previously. Every day I make 800 ml of tea. It takes a few minutes. I could do the same thing with the thermometers and Pyrex measuring cups and filters and tea pots I already have, but I never did it regularly because it was too much trouble. If you love tea, and you can afford to splurge on this device, get it. Or get your daughter to buy it for you.
