Basket breaks

I got this as a gift and after a few uses the basket doesn’t lower. None of the possible solution like leaving it upside down to dry out for 24 hrs works. I had loved it when it was working, but after so few uses before breaking I would not recommend.

The size is just right for a single tea drinker. I use it equally as a kettle when making a single mug of tea. I don’t like the fact that the brew basket is mostly plastic with larger holes that lets too many tea leaves escape, but I found if I rinse the basket before adding the tea, fewer leaves fall out when inserting the basket into the carafe. I do miss the display screen that the larger Tea Maker has, but I like the fact the the one hour keep warm timer resets each time you press the keep warm button, allowing me to sip a full carafe of tea over several hours.

I received this as a gift last Christmas after dropping hints and not even a year later, it doesn't work. The lights come on but it only clicks - it will no longer heat. This cost too much for so little use. When it worked, it was great but I am truly upset about it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful set up and teapot but design problem with tea basket. Some of the tea leaves go straight through due to the large holes. Strainer at pour spout didn't help much in filtering out those small leaves either.

Basket does not work.

I purchased this last fall. Did not use it for 4 months. Sat on my counter until today. Attempted to make some tea today and basket failed to drop. After doing extensive research and and finally deciding to invest in this kettle by Breville I am extremely disappointed in the longevity of this item.

Does not heat water anymore

I bought this kettle for my son for Christmas 2020. The basket stopped moving within a month of use. And now 9 months later the water would not heat up, that makes the kettle useless. I was expecting more from Breville. Love their coffee makers, but this kettle is a big disappointment

Loved it but after 9 months it failed.

I bought this product after a friend introduced me to it. I bought one and after 11 months it stopped working. The basket stopped halfway and I could not get it to work again. I would press start and after a few minutes it would beep and shut off. I was so very disappointed.

I don't agree with you about the tea bags. Note that the minimum amount of water is 2 cups. It is because the basket will not be complete full of water if less water is used. Thus, you have to use 2 bags of tea instead one. About to wake up and have your tea ready you have to use the other model that has this feature. The machine is priced but well made like every thing Breville makes.
