It's my 4th Phillips epilating machine and for the firt time I'm totaly desapointed. This model does not remove all hairs, included big ones. It only remove half of the hairs and only after 4 or 5 tries in the same area. It's a deception. And the bad news is that I bought two of this one, one for me and another for my system. Same problem with both machines. None work as expected.
Cons: do not remove the hair, many tries in same area without success
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall a great product

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
The unit is stylish and ergonomically comfortably. The accessories make hair elimination on all parts of the body safe and easy to reach. The built-in light is a welcome addition. I also found this unit to be one of the least painful available that I have tried.
My favorite feature is the flexibility of using wet or dry.
One feature I`d like to see, is a charging stand.
Overall I would highly recommend this product.
Pros: wet/dry option, built-in lights, included accessories
Cons: no charging station
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Product!!

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have always wanted to try an epilator, so I was thrilled to receive this in the mail. I have been trying everything and anything to remove hair since the age of 13 and I was excited to try something that potentially can weaken the hair to not have to deal with it as much.
After a few times using the epilator, mostly under my arms, I tried doing my legs but it was too painful to complete my whole legs. I have noticed that the epilator works very well when the hair is long enough for it to feed into the epilator. I must say it does leave some hair here and there and found my self running it through the same area over and over again, but after you get it all, you are left with beautiful smooth armpit!!!
My favorite feature is that it is wireless and waterproof!!! So you can use it in the bathroom while taking a shower.
The instructions it comes with are not very useful. I was hoping to see more details and suggestion on how to use it and some recommendations on what works best.
The epilator is extremely easy to assemble. All you have to do is charge it, attach top depending on the area being treated and GO!!
In comparison to other methods I have used for hair removal I must say it is very effective, my hair grows very fast. When I shave the hair it would come back within 2 days, after using the epilator it last up to 10 days!!!
The epilator definitely met my quality expectations and will continue to use to hopefully weaken the hair enough to not deal with it so often.
The only suggestion is to provide more details on the instructions, perhaps a website to reference for videos showing how to use it and tips. I found myself doing some research online, watched a couple of videos and read some comments until I felt comfortable enough to use it.
Overall the product does a good job, in my opinion I which it would be able to pick up the hair shorter than what it currently does but I will continue to use it especially on my armpit as it is well worth the wait to not have to shave for over a week.

Finding the right technique is a must!

I received this device and was asked to write a review regarding its performance.
I live in a house with three women so the concept of being able to remove hair less frequently was a huge plus for all of us. It was also nice to receive perspective and usage tips from more that one individual. Personally, I liked the device and found it simple to use. The directions where straightforward and easy to follow. I learned very quickly that it was much more effective and less painful in the shower than on a dry leg. My hair is fine and therefore I believe possibiliy easier to remove. The pain associated with use was easily tolerated and felt much the same as waxing. It does induce redness at the hair site but it went away by morning. The firmness of the skin is very important. Areas with loose skin are not only more difficult in regards to hair removal but also more painful.
My oldest daughter, who is in her twenties, loves this device. She also has fine hair and used it under her arms and bikini line. She stated that the attachments were simple to use and effective. She also believed the pain associated could be compared to waxing.
My youngest daughter, age 16, did not like using the epilator on any part of her body. Her hair is coarse and thick. She did not like the pulling sensation and stopped after a few minutes use. She also did not believe that it removed her thick hair effectively. Although she did not play with it long enough to create a good technique.
I believe that I will continue to use this product in the future. It does take some time to become accustomed to the process but I feel that it is worth the experimentation time in order to enjoy an additional 1+weeks of smooth skin compared to shaving.

Silky smooth legs!

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have used an epilator in the past (years ago) & this was much better than my previous experience! I love that this epilator can be used in wet or dry situations. I used it in the shower and it worked really well and helped ease the pain. I also love the different attachments, which make it very versatile. The product is well designed and fits comfortably in the hand. The light on the head of the unit help target stubborn hairs. I did find that I had to go over certain areas again and again to get all of the hairs out. I used it right before a beach vacation, and loved how silky smooth my legs remained while on vacation! The instructions are super clear. It is so easy to charge, assemble and clean, and even comes with a pouch to keep all the parts together. Overall, a great product!
Pros: great design, use wet or dry
Cons: can be painful to use, need to go over areas several times
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for fine hair

Having been using epilators for years, I now have very fine hair on my legs. While the Philips Satinelle does not catch every hair on the first pass, it still does a very good job.
Pros: wet or dry (wet hurts less), catches even fine hairs, lasts a lot longer than shaving, hair grows back less thick eventually, easy to clean, great battery life, the built-in light is awesome
Cons: takes 2 or 3 passes for the finest hairs

Great Design, but not very effective

Philips gave me this product to review and although I am very thankful for it, I do not love it. I've been using an epilator for the past 7+ years and it was time to got a new one.
What I liked:
It is convenient in that sense that you can charge it and bring it anywhere. The battery lasts pretty long, I've had the product for about a month now and I still haven't had to recharge it yet. The light on the epilator is also helpful if you were shaving your armpits - the light was a bit small, or you'd have to get a bit closer for it to be effective when shaving your legs. The handle on the device is a nice fit in my hand and a good grip. I also like the fact that it's waterproof so you can wash it under water after you finish using it.

Sleek and beautiful

I received the Philips Satinelle Advanced epilator to review and I love how beautiful the epilator is. A great feature that I like about the epilator is the guide light. It really helps shine a light on missed areas. This is actually my second epilator so it took some time to get used to this one. One of the biggest differences I saw was that the Philips epilator heads come pre-contoured. It took some getting used to since the pre-contouring made it difficult to get into some areas. Otherwise, it is a beautiful, sleek design and handles easily.
Pros: beautiful design, fits nicely in hand
Cons: pre-contoured heads
