Perfect size ice

Ice machine cutting grid on all of the time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would not recommend this ice machine. After the purchase, it came to my attention that the cutting grid is always on and when not actively melting ice has a temperature of 115 degrees F. So in essence there is a constant heater in the ice box. This causes two concerns, one there is always power being used by the grid (heat), the other is it causes the just formed ice to melt quickly. The other issue I have is a design flaw with the overflow in the reservoir. At the start of the harvest mode the reservoir over fills to rinse itself. The old and new water drain out of an over flow hole in the reservoir housing. This water drains directly onto the ice below it. Again this melts the ice faster and if there is any particulates etc… they are being deposited onto the ice below. A few positives about the machine is it is relatively quiet, and produces a fair amount of ice in a relatively short time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
