I put this ice maker in my theater room. it makes so much noise and it never stops doing something. I am going to put it in the garage and put something else in it place. Dont buy 'this monster you will regret it. If there was a 0 rating that's what it would get.

2 failures in less than 3 years

Icemaker was installed in March 2022. Developed a coolant leak in July 2023 that required a complete replacement of the cooling system. It has failed again in June 2024. I had purchased the 5 yr extended warranty with the icemaker, but apparently the start date for that is a year after the expiration of the manufacturers warranty. Now have to get the extended warranty start date adjusted to make a claim. Not sure who was at fault for that, but another headache for the consumer to resolve.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our New Kitchenaid Icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are so happy with our new Kitchenaid Icemaker. We had a uline icemaker and it completely stopped working after 3 weeks. This icemaker is so much nicer even though the cost was about the same. Plus, I could not get service for the uline at all where I live. It is more attractive and seems to have features that actually work! The door seals well when you shut it, the ice is uniform and the bin stays full, there is no odd smell from the unit, the sounds are muted very well, the appearance is attractive, the handle is easy to use and I feel confident in its performance because it is a Kitchenaid after all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Noisy piece of crap that turns itself off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this less than 2 months ago ... at first, all good ... then after about a month, it became very noisy on & off ... sounds like the machine is "struggling" ... after 2 weeks of that nonsense, it has turned itself off and cannot be turned back on

Kitchen Aid Ice Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker stopped making ice about 4 weeks after I purchased it. I called and scheduled service with Kitchen Aid 7 days ago and the service advisor won't be here for another 3 days. This isn't suppose to happen with a new appliance.

Defective Ice Machine

I bought the ice machine a year ago and it failed to make ice after about a month. It has been “repaired” now four times and still does not work.

Luxury at its finest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice cubes can be adjusted in size and the recovery time is quick. The first time I cleaned it, I could not find information on how to turn it off. Called the help number and no one could help. There is a magnet in the middle of the panel that must be pressed to open the plastic shield. This is a different feature from our past models. Be aware that once you have a stand alone ice maker, you will be spoiled and not want any other huge ice cubes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife's mother who lives in Tampa, Fl. who is 91 suggested that we add a ice maker to the kitchen. We told the architect to put it in the plans. We absolutely love it!! No more buying ice bags at the store as my wife hates refrigerator ice. We never run out of ice and can accommodate large parties without running out. My wife's mother said that over the past 30 years she has had other brands, but nothing has worked better than her KitchenAid. Thanks KitchenAid.
