[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite ice. I am a bit of an ice nut. Clear cut cubes are the only kind of ice maker I would have. I advise keeping up with the cleaning schedule. The ice maker will tell you when. You can avoid very expensive repairs.

It makes clear, square ice cubes, which we love for cocktails and insulated water bottles. We bought the model with the drain pump and it's a little noisier than our last model, which is our only complaint. But again, love the clear ice, convenience, easy cleaning, and quality of the ice maker. Thank you!

Worked Beautifully until it didn't.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit brand new in October and it worked beautifully for about a month. While we were out of town on vacation, the unit failed completely. Got back home, no ice, no power, nothing - dead as a doornail. Would not reset. Currently working with Kitchenaid on repair or replacement. Service tech said there have been sporadic problems with drain pump failing. Since power to the icemaking unit is sourced from drain pump, if drain pump shuts down for whatever reason, the icemaker and refrigeration no longer works. Will adjust rating if Kitchenaid comes through on remedying the problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I selected this machine to replace my old ice maker. It was delivered and installed March 29th. Instructions say it may take up to 24 hours before ice starts dropping. It is now April 4th and no ice yet. Kitchen Aid is coming tomorrow.

Disappointed

Purchased 3/8/21. Raved about this ice machine. It was by far our favorite of the 5 Kitchenaid appliances purchased for a major kitchen Reno. Have maintained as directed. Machine is now making poor quality/low quantity ice. Of course no longer under warranty. I expected better longevity from a brand I trusted.

Problem from the start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had it for a week and saw water on the floor by the ice maker. The hose that goes from the drain pump to the drain was not a tight fit on the connection and the clamp could not prevent some water from dripping on the floor. The installer came back out and put a bigger clamp on the hose and that seems to have done the trick. Really hard to believe that whirlpool would let something like this get out to the public.
