Works great, still trying to figure out filter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this unit installed for about 6-7 months. The ice is awesome and the way it matches the other KitchenAid appliances is fantastic. Every once in a while th machine will start making thin, slushy ice and I am trying to figure out the cause. Then it goes right back to awesome ice again. Odd. Would definitely recommend though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Kitchen Aid ice maker I’ve had. The first was in the remodeled kitchen in Texas. We moved from there and really missed the ice machine! When I remodeled this kitchen, I could not wait to get another. This one has been updated with a built in water filter. The ice is a great size and is crystal clear. And I always have ice available.

I'll keep doing that because I hear ice makers are notorious for problems if they are not. Good quality ice from the machine and easy to operate. Love having one.

Our first experience with a KichenAid product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were surprised to find, within the first year of operation, there were problems with our machine that resulted in 3 service calls and the technician was required to take it back to their shop where it was found that the compressor would need to be replaced. This resulted in the ice maker being out of service for approximately 6 weeks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice maker works well, I like the ice it makes, but it is super loud, makes loud noises so i typically turn it off at night. It actually stopped working when we had owned it for less than a year, but the warranty cover all costs for repairs and the ice maker works very well. Makes plenty of ice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought an entire kitchen package including a very expensive jive machine February 2021. The ice machine for the first 4 months worked great. Produced a lot of ice and made very little noise. Now the last couple of months it began to make loud noises that it didn’t make before and it’s not producing the same amount of ice like it did. Sometimes it’s so loud I could hear it in my bedroom. I placed a mineral water cleanser to see if that would help, but it did not. Now it makes loud noises at different intervals of the ice production cycle. I wish it could go back to how it ran when I first got the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previously we had a Scotman nugget ice maker that was 15 years old and finally quit. We decided to try the Kitchenaid as all of our other appliances are Kitchenaid that we are happy with. We are so pleased with the crystal clear small cubes that actually chill our drinks much better. Also the volume and speed of ice making are excellent.
