Disappointing

I've had it for about six months and disappointing. Quality doesn't even come close to a Vitamix. I've made but butters, hummus and smoothies and it doesn't get the smooth consistency of it's competitors. The vortex isn't very strong so just the bottom portion gets blended and constantly having to push ingredients down.

I love my Twister Jar!

I love using my Twister Jar for making salad dressings, hummus and thick chunky things like small batch dumpling filling. So convenient not having to stop the blend just to scrape down the sides. My favourite thing about all the Blendtec jars is the blunt blades as I don't need to worry about scraping myself or cutting up my silicone spatulas (which is a peeve of mine). Also nice to have the tight fitted lid for when I want to just use it for a regular liquid blend.

I ordered the smaller jar, and it was much smaller than I expected. I really do love it. I use it as my main jar now. I still will replace my cracked larger jar, that I have had for over 20 years. I use my blendtec everyday. Usually twice a day. Once for my morning juice and then I usually have spices etc that need blending at dinner.

I bought this jar with high expectations and have not been satisfied. Every time I make a recipe there are chunks left in it. I have tried the spinner top and just the lid. Both times I am left with at least three or four chunks. I will just stick to my wildside jar from here on out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great addition to the Pro 800!

I’ve been using a Blendtec blender for about 9 years and recently upgraded to the Pro 800. Then, I recently took the plunge and invested in the Twister jar. I now do all my morning smoothies in the Twister jar, using the gripper lid and not the Twister lid. I get one nice sized single serving where I used to get almost two with the Wildside jar, which was really a waste for my needs. It is just easier to get only a ‘single’ serving out of the Twister jar. It’s like having a big house (Wildside jar), it is easier to fill it with so much stuff! Well, today I finally ran out of almond butter that I had made with the Wildside jar and it was time to try making a nut butter with the Twister jar! Previously, I tried to make the nut butter with the regular jars including the Wildside and it would take 20 minutes of fussing, poking and prodding around to get a nut butter that was not very smooth in texture. Today, I roasted 1.5 cups of raw almonds for 15 minutes at 350F and let them cool a bit. I put them in the Twister jar without any added oil and used the slider control (on the Pro 800) to get medium high speed. I processed for 40 seconds but in that time I also reduced the speed a couple times, while turning the Twister lid counterclockwise. I ended up with a great smooth nut butter! I could probably have been done in 30 seconds as the nut butter was VERY smooth and very warm after 40 seconds. 30 seconds with the Twister jar compared to 20 minutes of fussing over and over and over with the regular jars? Yep, that’s for me. I'm sold, the Twister jar is great and a worthwhile investment for my needs!
Note: my almonds were roasted and still warm when I put them in the Twister jar. I’ll try next time with raw and room temperature almonds. I’m surprised at the comments regarding problems making nut butters, but maybe the trick is to used roasted almonds? Remember, I didn’t use ANY added oil with my roasted almonds.
Also, the Spectacula spatula is very handy for getting as much nut butter out of the Twister jar as possible. This tool comes with the Twister jar package.
Another note, when I called Blendtec to ask about the Twister jar I was told that it would not fit under the Pro 800 sound enclosure, closed, while also using the Twister lid. In fact, it does fit with either the Twister lid or the gripper lid. However, so far I don’t see a need for using the Twister lid if the sound enclosure is closed as what would be point of using it if you cannot reach in and twist the lid? Perhaps using the Twister lid sporadically as the blender is running? It’s just not something I’ve done yet.
Anyway, I’m VERY happy with the Twister jar so far.
