I have been struggling to make mayonnaise for a long time and failing miserably, but it was so easy in my new twister jar! It also grinds seeds quickly and easily, and it's slightly smaller size makes it easier to handle and wash up. I am happy I bought it.
I had the wild side for 2 years, and kept wondering why I always had to scrap the sides of the jar when I made hummus or nut butters. This jar was the answer, and solved all of those problems. LOVE IT! Still use the wild side for soups and such, but this is a must if you are a hummus junkie like me.
Not bad, but not as effective as I had hoped for making small quantities of nut butters, etc.. Definitely an improvement on the wild side, but still subject to cavitation. Sort of a pricey upgrade. That said, I'm generally happy with the Blendtec brand as a whole product.

I bought the Blendtec Total Blender with 4 side jar about 6 years ago or so. I've made soup, smoothies, whole juice, desserts, dips, spreads, sauces... what I have probably used it for most though is thicker and harder to blend items like nut butters, and date paste from whole medjool and also the harder/firmer deglet dates. I recently found out about the twister jar and I knew I had to order one. While I was able to make everything in the 4 side jar, it was somewhat time consuming to make peanut, almond, and cashew butters, and especially date paste. I also added 2 tblsp. peanut oil to the nut butters, as the instructions called for, and because I found it necessary to speed up the process and it put less stress on the jar blade/seal mechanism. With the twister jar it's extremely quick to make those nut butters, and it's not necessary to add any extra oil - it really tastes a lot better with just the nuts and a little salt and no extra oil. I also recently started making coconut butter and that even took longer than the other nut butters in the 4 side jar - it's also extremely quick with the twister jar and no need to add coconut oil. This twister jar has taken my blending to a new level with the harder and thicker stuff - so glad they came out with this!
Absolutely loving this jar, homemade peanut butter. we made a chocolate almond butter that was an amazing dessert! Cant recommend this jar enough! If you own a blended, you need a twister jar! Not to mention the awesome spatula that comes with! perfectly paired with this jar.
This is my 2nd twister jar. I had my 1st for almost 7 years. Makes the best humus, peanut butter. Perfect for grinding fresh coffee beans. Great for chopping
I purchased a Twister Jar for my wife as a present as she was tired of the extras (sugar, extra salt, oil) in commercial peanut butter. Using Dry Roasted peanuts it makes a great peanut butter. However the cleanup could be much easier off the Twister Jar. I basing my review on the Twister Jar. We are currently on the 3rd Blendtec in our kitchen as the base lasts only about 4 years. Our local Costco noo longer carries Blendtec.
