Because of the rounded form and the additional top it is easier to mix smaller portions. The Spatula also allows for better removal of the food leaving less in the jar. I enjoy using this.

I bought the Twister Jar with the intention of making nut butters and small smoothies. One of our favorite treats is the Black Bean Fudge.
Blending the dates for the fudge causes the blender to jump and make very loud noises. The first time we made it I thought it was going to break something. But it seems to be okay.
It does not make as smooth a smoothie as the 5 sided jar but it is passable, I just need to give it more time to pulverize all the frozen fruit. (plums, blackberries, blue berries, bananas, mangos, apples) We grow our own organic veggies. I like to dry some of them and then powder them and put the powder into my smoothies. We do beets, green beans, carrots, spinach, chard, kale and carrot tops in a typical season. So the smoothies are a bit thick.
Nut butters take a bit longer than the videos showed, so I'm confused as to why that is. maybe because the video is peanuts and we do almonds. Our favorite so far is almonds with a splash of coconut oil and 5 or 6 drops of Stevia.
My biggest concern though as with the 5 sided jar is if you fill them too full they will blow the lid or leak out the top and make a mess. And definitely no liquids with the Twister lid! There is just so much power and force that it is almost uncontrollable. But power and force are good....
I wish it had been a bit less expensive but I am glad I bought it. I tell anyone who asks to buy a Blendtec blender.
Even though there are things I don't like or maybe should say, a tad disillusioned with, over all it is a great blender and does a wonderful job. We make whole veggie smoothies in the 5 sided jar and there are no lumps or chunks!!! I expect a lot out of my equipment and I do push the limit with it more than some might.
