So After much review and trialing one other Blendtec, which we kept, and a vitamin mix which I returned due to a recall for black specks, I settled on this blender. Figured if the blender performance matched the price it would be worth it. I rate it 5/5 for encasement ability to reduce the decibels. However, if you are getting this blender with plans to make ice cream, then look elsewhere. YOU NEED A TAMPER, this is where the vitamin is superior. The tamper prevents the air pockets from forming...YOU CAN NOT MAKE ICE CREAM WITHOUT A TAMPER. The ingredients will become compacted at the bottom and until you scrape/stir it you can't continue to blend. I used the back of the Blendtec spatula as a makeshift tamper, which is tricky because of depth, too much and you contact the blade. Blendtec is behind on this tech and does not have a tamper for it's a blender. I think they are in denial. regardless of how many servings you are making it won't work. That's what I told customer service, which is awful. Their response was to add more milk...well then it will be a Milkshake. I wanted to blend frozen berries and had all the seeds in it still and it came out like a smoothie bowl so I put it in the freezer for it to become more sorbet like.

Works great but base is peeling

This is a great blender- quiet and powerful. However the hard plastic around the base of the blender is cracked and peeling.

This was my first expensive blender, and to say the very least, I am utterly impressed. My only issue is that I wish I could go back in time and buy one sooner. Quiet, easy to clean, reliable, and aesthetically gorgeous machine. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Bravo Blendtec!

I bought this blender over the summer and I love it! I went and bought two more for friends. I just wish that for the price that some accessories would be included, Like the twister jar. It would help a lot for making home made ice cream. Other than that, it is a great machine!!

I had a lower model of blendtec blender and while it was great it was SO LOUD! Especially when blending frozen avocado in smoothies. I ordered this because the previous noise was like drilling a hole in my head :) and this blender is a God send! So unbelievably quiet. And the professional level motor is amazing. I highly recommend it.

This blender is an excellent machine. It does the job - any job - effortlessly. I’ve had several Blendtec blenders for many years and they were all great - but it was time for my family to upgrade one step higher!
