I bought this about a month ago and have used it several times. I would say about half of those time there has been an issue. They include: the cup vibrating off the base while blending, the cup opening while blending, being unable to remove the blender base for a couple hours with two construction working men, and finally today having the lid to the cup open all over my lunch box. Shaker cups are simple and I’ve never had an issue. Blend in the normal Blendtec blender egos is amazing and pour in a $7 shaker. Hopefully I can still return and get a refund.
The Go Cup itself is great... I use the GoCup every morning with the plastic lid. I discovered that inserting a Solo-Cup insert does NOT work very well at all for a couple of reasons. 1) The plastic cup will crack from hard materials such ice during blending and splashed all over the Go Cup a, 2) In order to get a tight enough seal on the you have to tighten anyway n the lid sooooo tight that it makes it virtually impossible to to get the lid off.
I was happy to finnaly get my Blendtec Go jar, but I was a little disappointed in the blending abilities. I make a Rocket Fuel latte with cacao nibs and shelled hemp seeds in the Wild Side jar on the smoothie setting and everything is smooth. In the Blendtec Go jar I have about 2 tsps of chunks left at the bottom. I have tried running the juice setting twice and I still have little chunks left over. I have also paused partway through and scraped down the sides. Let me know if I am doing something wrong.
Doesn’t blend as advertised. Frozen fruit, fresh fruit, and ice cubes all have chunks left that are gross and don’t go through a straw. I haven’t even tried the solo cup feature because I think it’s wasteful. Buy the mini wildside instead, does as good a job as the big jars in smaller portions.

I like the Blendtec Go, but I'm not completely sold. My favorite feature is the "go" cup. The size, the easy-to-clean aspect, and the handle are great. But the cap...countless times, I've thought I'd screwed the top down and ended up with smoothie all over me. Also, the Blendtec Go blends together soft, smooth ingredients, but it does only the job of a low-grade blender on greens and even ice. It doesn't blend to a smooth texture. Lastly, the blender bottle tends to shake. When blending "tougher" ingredients, the unit doesn't seem to stay steady and on occasion has even sprayed its contents.
I LOVE the size of this blender cup. A million times better than the Vitamix one, which is unusable. That said, they should redesign the lid. It feels jankey, like it is going to break, it is a pain to open and close and overall, just needs a redesign. It does not blend as well as the blender. That said, I use it every single day. I often times use the blender and then pour in the smoothie cup to go, or just to carry around the house etc. I think they should redesign and send us all a new lid! :) Still highly recommend. Miles better than Vitamix.
This Blendtec GO bottle is well made like all Blendtec products. I do appreciate that! However, for me it is not as convenient as the pitcher. If you need to add anything to the bottle while it is blending you have to take it off the blender and unscrew the jar instead of just opening a lid. Blending in individual cups is not all that convenient either. It can be a little messy. It would be just as easy to blend and then pour into cups. Looking back, for the money I spent, I wish I had gotten the Mini Wildside Jar.
