Quality Appliance

Refrigerator has many nice features and looks great but I wish I didn't have to lose the top left shelf so I had adequate room for my larger drink containers. I keep at least 4 drinks in my frig (white milk, chocolate milk, OJ and juice). My old frig had room in the door for gallon size jugs. While this is a better frig overall, it's inadequate if you have more than 2 gallon size containers.

Nothing but problems with ice maker
on March 3, 2016

Basic refrigerator is fine, but ice maker cabinet quickly freezes and will not make ice. This is a significant and recurring stop to cold drinks. Disappointingly, the first occurrence was within 6 months of ownership, and at that time an entire second freezer cabinet was installed. This was not the remedy. Ongoing now and frustrating, each time we return from an extended trip, the ice maker is frozen and requires days of defrost to try and reset the system. Unless Electrolux has yet another qualified repair option, I conclude this is BAD DESIGN. There is not a problem with the auger functioning and water lines are clear. Never again.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, IceLess2. We regret to hear that you are unhappy with the ice maker in your refrigerator. We do suggest turning the automatic ice maker off and emptying the ice bucket when you go on vacation, even if you will only be gone a few days. Hope this helps! -Kindly, Jennifer

This refrigerator was a replacement for my 4+ year old one. I'm very happy with Electrolux warranty policy, they replaced my old refrigerator with this upgraded model when the ice maker quit working.

Cool Features, Elegant Appearance, but...

This refrigerator has some cool features including the Wave Touch controls, soft close drawers, and LED lighting. Overall it looks very elegant and high end. My only concern so far is that the refrigerator appears to be constantly running. The condenser fan underneath the refrigerator is always on unless it's in the defrost cycle, which isn't very often, at which time the fridge is completely silent. All other refrigerators that I've owned seem to have more periods of silence between the condenser fan and defrost cycles. Ether way I'm hoping the "always on" fan noises are by design and that this refrigerator isn't an energy hog. I'll find out when i get my next power bill. Lastly, if you press and hold the ice cube button you can actually customize the size of the ice from the top ice maker in the door (small, medium, large). This feature was nowhere to be found in the owner's manual. I had to email Electrolux to figure this out. Seems like a bit of an oversight to leave something like this out of the owner's manual.

Thank you for sharing your review with us, Justicem1. Our new refrigerators are designed to be more efficient in that they use newer components and run at a consistent speed/temperature for a longer period of time using less energy. If your refrigerator is located in a non-humid and not warm environment and you have set your appliance to the appropriate temperature settings (37ºF for refrigerator and 0ºF for your freezer section) you should notice that it runs at a lower speed for a longer period of time. This is one way it is designed to save on energy. Appliances use more energy when they constantly turn off and on. Our refrigerators are designed to allow the fan components inside to run after the compressor turns on. This allows the internal components to cool and the machine to rest even though you may still hear something running. Hope this helps! Kindly, Jennifer
