Everything You Need in a Fridge!

After our 12 year old side by side went out we started a search for a French door refrigerator. There are some beauties out there, but none compared to this one! I love the double ice maker and temperature controlled sliding tray, not to mention the beautiful glass trays. We had a few minor issues that needed to be addressed because we bought the refrigerator off the floor at Plaza Appliance, and I am beyond pleased with the quick and courteous service both the customer service provided along with the technicians. What a pleasure to be a part of the Electrolux family. Wish we had joined sooner. P.S. LOVE the soft serve ice cream drawer too!!

Electrolux French door w/ Bottom Freezer ModelEW28

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After weeks of looking, I decided on the Electrolux fridge. A few of my deciding factors in purchasing this fridge was 1- the glass shelf (with no border), this makes cleaning them fast and without having to remove them & the curve up on the edges, hence if something spills, it stays on that shelf 2- the duel ice makers (one in door and larger one in freezer) 3- the soft serve ice cream drawer in the freezer (keep ice cream cold but NOT rock hard which allow us to eat the ice cream as soon as we take it out of the freezer), there is no waiting for it to soften. Although I have only had this fridge for about 5 weeks, I can tell a difference in how long the food stays fresher especially in the climate control drawers.The only con I have found is the ice maker in the bottom freezer is loud when it is dropping the cubes in the bin. This is my first Electrolux appliance and I am thrilled with it. I had only associated Electrolux with vacuums but I am discovering they are so much more. As my other appliances go out in my home, I will definitely be checking into Electrolux as replacements. I would love to have all matching appliances in my kitchen.

Not Worth the Cost or the Aggravation

Purchased because I have an Electrolux washer and gas dryer and they work flawlessly. This refrigerator/freezer is nothing but an engineering nightmare. The front ice maker when on the 'CUBE' setting produces only CRUSHED. The service department has replaced close to everything and it still does not work properly. The ice maker in the drawer overfills because the wire is too short. Ice falls into the back of the drawer causing problems on closing and thawing.
Not engineered very well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I THINK I HAVE A LEMON!

I had heard good things about Electrolux, but so far, I have been sorely disappointed. I really like the overall appearence and some of the design features of this frig, but there are several aspects that are truly problematic for me. First of all, the frig never gets as cold as set. There is an area (top shelf) that never goes below 40 degrees - most the time it hoovers around 45 degrees. I refer to it as the "dead zone". I never store anything really perishable on these shelves. I've had it looked at several times by repair people and they even replaced a fan, but it made no difference. Finally, the repair person indicated that he thought it was just a "bad unit". The ice maker also troubles me. This particular frig has two, the lower one located in the freezer works fine, the upper one troubles me. The other day I turned it off while I emptied it and cleaned it. I forgot to turn it back on for several days. When I did, it took almost 4 days before it started to produce ice and before it did, it started to make a ticking noise that lasted for several hours. I called the 800 service number, but it was Sunday and it started to work shortly afterward. The repair person told me that the ice maker in the frig is intergated and if it breaks, can not be replaced. I don't know if this is true, but if so, it would have definitely influenced my purchase. On the other hand, I love the PerfectTemp Drawer. It is true to whatever temperature I set. Too bad it's not big enough to hold all my perishables.

Icemaker is JUNK

Bought this unit one month ago and the icemaker from the water/ice dispenser has never worked. Since it's under warranty they are coming back for the third time to replace it. Freezer compartment ice make works fine. Top one is garbage. Otherwise the unit seems fine. but I would never reccomend it because of the aggravation.
