This is a replacement for a previous Electrolux refrigerator. The old model had a poorly designed ice maker which constantly failed. Electrolux replaced the old refrigerator with this new model. So far I am very happy with the new refrigerator. Hopefully this one lasts.

Execllent new features

The new features compared to the French Door Refrigerator 5 years ago are excellent. I love the soft close drawers. The Ice cream drawer keeps the ice cream serving ready which is a plus for parties where you need to serve quickly. The double ice makers make entertaining a breeze since I don't have to go and buy ice.

Less Impressive than EW28BS71IS

This model was a replacement for an earlier version of the same refrigerator. The design fault that rendered the earlier model irreparable, was a non-functional ice maker in the top section of the unit. After 4 attempts in one year, Electrolux threw in the towel and agreed to replace the older version. I took delivery of this model just two months ago and find the design - although very similar, much less impressive than the EW28BS71IS. The doors do not seal automatically and I've found the fridge doors left open without an alarm alert. This never happened with the other unit. I find the freezer storage drawer offers less cubic space than the other model and the configuration of the storage trays is less suited to my needs due to the position of the in-freezer ice maker and the soft-serve drawer. Again freezer does not have that "magnetic pull" which sucks the drawer closed. User must check that all three doors are closed before walking away from the unit. I notice also that the vegetable drawers are not symmetrically lined up. The bottom shelf seems to dip in the middle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really nice with lots of room

I have had this refrigerator for a little over a month and really like it.. The dual ice makers really crank out ice and there seems to be room for everything. My only complaints are the doors could close a little better (could be an adjustment) and the bottom ice maker tray will spill ice on the floor of the freezer if allowed to get too full. Other than those minor issues this is a great and roomy fridge.
