Big or small wash- an excellent machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have just moved into a newly-built condo, with the washing machine and dryer pre-installed. The washing machine is absolutely marvellous. As an English person, I’m unused to American technology, and very pleasantly surprised. The best features: a bleach drawer for whites, the quick-wash option, the drain and spin add-on. Best of all, it’s so quiet!

Works great, but multiple issues in the first year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this machine to replace a previous Whirlpool Duet front loader my wife and I had had for around 17 years. For the most part, that machine only had a few minor issues (though I did have to replace the controller at around 5 years).
This machine, however, does not have the same build quality. The operator panel feels very cheap and the detergent loading drawer is flimsy. These issues I can look past (unfortunately most companies are trying to save on development by reducing cost to manufacture), but three service calls and a replaced controller within the first 14 months of ownership leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Very glad I purchased the extended warranty and I highly suggest anyone purchasing this model to do the same. This could have just been a little bit of a lemon starting out, but it could save you some cash on service calls.
It is working great now, but I definitely no longer see Whirlpool as our default appliance brand moving forward.

Great machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main reason I bought Whirlpool was because our 47-year-old oven is still working; everything clock, burners, lights just needed two new heating elements. So, I am a big fan of Whirlpool. This machine is easy to use and washes the clothes excellently.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a vast improvement over my old Maytag front loader! The gasket/seal and drum design is great. So far no nasty mold or odor, although I've only had it about a month.

Many issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer was purchased through our builder. We immediately had problems with it. The washer did not take the water out of the clothes and got stuck on 1 minute left. And more importantly there is a significant lack of water in the drum. Just barely enough to wet the very small load and no extra water in the drum at all. Have to rewatch everything a second time with no soap just to try to rinse out the clothes. Washer has no rinse and spin feature and it is an upgraded model.

New washer not as good as previous Duet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced a 14 year old Whirlpool Duet washer with this model WFW560CHW washer. The touch controls and musical chime give it an upscale feel. However, the door gasket is quite tight and it takes more force than expected to latch the door. The Add a Garment feature only allows 2 minutes from starting a cycle to add any missed clothes. The manual says to clean the drain pump filter regularly, but on this model, it is completely inaccessible. The top, control panel and front panel including door must first be removed to get to the filter. With the old Duet, we just removed three screws and the lower front panel below the door came off, exposing the filter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
