It is dead

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought for a new house and it died within 6 months. Finally got a repairman scheduled and it is still not repaired 2 weeks later. This is an overly complicated machine to operate. It is an example of the overuse of technology making life harder rather than easier
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dumbest washer and dryer set I have ever

By far the dumbest washer and dryer set I have ever purchased. It loses the Wi-Fi connection, and frequently need to be re-configured. Does not work with Alexa. It connects to Alexa without issues, but it doesn't do anything and there's no information anywhere on how it works with Alexa. We have several software engineers in the family, and none could figure out how to use the touchscreen properly.
The software on the tiny display screen is terrible. You have to go through several menus each time you start the wash.
The favorites option on the machine and app do not work. Also, there are no instruction on how to the menus on the display work in the manual or the Whirlpool website.
The registration process on the website did not work.
The registration for the dryer was supposed to include a dryer rack, but the form on the website returned errors. There's no way to get the dryer rack, and I'm not sure if it's registered or not because I can't use the phone app, because it lost Wi-Fi. I can't re-set up the Wi-Fi connection right now because the settings for the washer are un-available while the washing machine is running.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a smart device in my opinion

I bought this Washer WFW9620HC figuring that it was a "Smart Appliance" It does work with the whirlpool App but It does not work with Alexa in CANADA. However It does work with Alexa in USA. Having this feature enabled and having Alexa tell you the washer and or Dryer is completed Cycle would make this a true smart device i feel. Wish Whirlpool would work on the software update for this and truly make this machine amazing!!!!

My very first ever front loader!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All my (41 year) life I’ve been using the traditional top loader washing machine. The previous (Kenmore) was a top loader with an agitator in the middle. I have been pretty used to using these as the tub was filled with water to wash my clothes so that left me a little skeptical about these new and more modern front loaders. I have to say, the clothes do get pretty soaked (I was staring at it during the first few washes) in the machine. The great thing about this is that the liquid dispenser (at the bottom) automatically measures how much detergent is needed depending on the wash cycle. I no longer have to measure each cup per load. Oh and the noise level of this machine is Super Quiet! Total night and day compared to the old unit. Lastly, I find that the spin cycle to dry the clothes come out dryer than the old top load style too. The touch screen display is a feature that I liked, much more modern and a great “minimalist” look to go with the (newly renovated) laundry room. All major appliances in my house is now Whirlpool, never steered me wrong so far.

Works well, loose top cover.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right after installed noticed a loose fitting top which rattles, making an otherwise quiet washer a bit noisy. Otherwise the washer is easy to use with many fratures. Would expect a higher quality fit of sheet metal for what we paid.
