This is my second dryer within 1 month. Same dryer. Both of these dryers have the same issue. There is something wrong with the control panel, perhaps too computerized. It works ok for a few days and then the panel either goes ballistic or just dies. I unplug it for a while and can get it to work for a little bit. The replacement dryer (2nd one in a month) arrived on Friday and it managed to sort of work for almost a week. Had some issues and we had to unplug it and wait but today, it just decided to die. No power etc. Do not buy. I just ordered an LG electric dryer since I can't be bothered with this Whirlpool that is defective. I can't believe that I'm the only one that has issues with this. I feel like the dryer is possessed. I got rid of a perfectly good dryer in early December to be haunted by two dryers, same exact models that don't work or perform. I have been so inconvenienced. I do not recommend anyone purchasing this dryer until Whirlpool figures out what the issue is etc. The warranty company even ordered a new control panel for the first dryer and it was delivered cracked. Don't buy this, find something that works and is reliable. The features are nice, but the dryer needs to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are constantly working to improve our appliances and our service, and it is only through feedback from customers like you that we are able to do so. We have documented all of the concerns you have mentioned, for review by our managers and engineers. Our managers and engineers do regularly review our files, to look for areas in which we can improve our products. We know that can be disheartening; especially when you have just purchased a new and you have high expectations for it. We’re sorry that we are not meeting/delivering these expectations.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace the whirlpool duet which was 16 1/2 years old and still work fine hoping to get that kind of service out of this one so far works great
