Whirlpool Dryer Replacing Old Whirlpool Unit
on March 5, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a long time Whirlpool appliance owner. After 16+ years my last dryer finally started to wear out. I found a wonderful deal & purchase both a dryer and washer to replace my old units. Very pleased.
Less than 2 years old and has broken several times. I had it repaired while under warranty, but of course once the warranty expires, it breaks again. The front panel will not turn on despite the power to the machine being in working order. I will end up having to replace this dryer and most likely the washer as well since I don't plan on purchasing from Whirpool again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently moved into a new apartment complex that just opened. My apartment was furnished with this specific dryer. It dries clothes fine but it's extremely noisy. I have a small closet that the stacked washer and dryer are in but even with the door closed it's difficult to stay in the apartment when the dryer is running. I've tired to diagnose the problem. When I rotate the drum manually it seems quite enough. However, when the drum spins automatically, during the dry cycle, it's much louder. This suggest the noise is coming from the drive system and not from the drum itself. I checked the specifications, hoping to find the sound level specification for this dryer but Whirlpool does not disclose this information.

New dryer delivered today (i will be calling store tomorrow), it is incredibly loud. I don’t believe it is supposed to be so loud, it can be heard throughout entire house. everyone came out of rooms thinking something was wrong in the house. it’s not banging, it’s just an incredibly loud noise as it spins. i truly hope that this is something faulty and the when it is replaced, the next one won’t be this loud, because whoa. I will update my review after I receive replacement.
This dryer tries too hard. If the economy boost button is activated, your clothes aren't going to dry. Also, the buttons have stopped working and there's visible moisture inside the control panel. It won't even power on anymore, but before it just completely went dark, it was flashing eroor codes, and the time would change on its own to 2 hours, or if I set it to 40 minutes, it actually took more like an hour and a half and the timer was going really slow. One minute was almost three minutes. It looks sleek, but having electric buttons on it was probably a bad idea.
