Great Watch but lack of maps and music interface
on September 1, 2018
Posted by: Alvaro
I bought this watch mainly for all the sports and GPS functionality, but unfortunately, there are no maps or any tracking routes for México and therefore, it only works as a smart watch that doesn’t even display the maps or GPS from my phone to cover the lack of installed maps. So, for that I am disappointed. I have the Garmin Navigator VI in my motorcycle amd works extraordinarily and I can’t understand why I can’t install or use thos same maps in my Fenix. I hope you can help me to turn around this poor experience please. Also, there’s no music integration with Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music which are the bigger and best music apps available.

Battery is terrible
on September 8, 2018
Posted by: Rob246
I’ve had this watch for less than a week. Day one the battery dropped 80% in 24 hours. I’ve shut down everything I can find including GPS etc. and it’s still on pace to be at 20% or less in 24 hours.

Keeps disconnecting reconnecting!

Only had it for two days. Like the indoor rowing. Haven’t tried the cycling yet but can’t wait. I don’t know why it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. To be continued.....

New to Garmin

I've been a Fitbit guy for a few years now. "There's nothing like a Fitbit". I couldn't be further from the truth, yet eerily this statement is still true. Fitbit is a great watch/fitness tracker. I will be forever thankful to them for assisting me along the way to my fitness goals. Garmin's Fenix 5 Plus is a Fitbit X's 100!!! I can't stop playing with my watch. I'm blown away at what this time piece is capable of. I'm not going to list them all, because it would be a short novel instead of review. I will say this though, having a mini-computer strapped on my wrist, that's waterproof, and made like a tank is very reassuring and I can't keep my hands off of this.
Looking forward to my relationship with you all.

Disapointing

I bought Fenix 5 plus as a Multisport watch, however it does not work well for swimming and open water swimming . Calories, training effort is not accurate. Very disappointing acquisition.

Bad experience
on October 10, 2018

Had to return the watch less than 24 hours. Didn't like it battery drained in 1 day after whole night charging. Don't recommend.
Response from GarminBy ChrisGarminOctober 18, 2018
Hello leagles 101, sorry you had a bad experience. The battery will normally last for up to 12 days in regular watch mode. You may have possibly had the watch set to an active GPS activity. We would expect a life of about 8-18 hours depending on what features were active in that mode
