Great Sport / Fitness Watch
on February 4, 2019
Posted by: Bernard Hsu
I've switched from Fitbit to Garmin because I now need a true sport / fitness watch that helps me with various of sport that i do, such as running, HIIT workout, tennis etc. Garmin Fenix 5S plus is a perfect watch that only does just that, it also looks great with long battery life. Furthermore, I love that i now can go running and with music without carrying my smart phone.

Heart Rate Monitor is Not Great
on March 16, 2019
Posted by: laura-
I bought this a week ago and the heart rate monitor isn’t accurate when recording during heavy exertions. Way off! Additionally, the heart rate will register one thing, seemingly accurate, and doesn’t always get reported accurately on the graph on the watch or through Garmin Connect. For instance my high HR number shows on my watch as it occurs but doesn’t record on the graph or in Garmin Connect.

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. Devices that feature an optical heart rate sensor benefit from a snug, but comfortable, fit for improved heart rate performance during an activity. Wear the band 2 finger widths above your wrist and remember to loosen it after each exercise. If you believe you are having issues beyond this we would encourage you to contact customer support

Bluetooth Connection is terrible
on March 21, 2019

Once I begin running the bluetooth connection start to cut in and out. My bluetooth headphones will pick up a signal from my cell phone from over 20 feet away but they cut out when my Garmin watch is less than 3 feet from my bluetooth headphones.

User friendly

I purchased the Fenix 5s plus about 1 week ago and I am very pleased with my purchase. I have no cons that I can think of. One pro that was a great surprise was the “set” function when doing strength training. For example, I’m doing three sets of 10 squats with only 30 seconds rest in between. The fenix will track my reps for me, I tell it when I have completed the reps, and it then starts counting my rest time. This will go on until you manually stop the activity. I’m not sure if this carries over for the other activities just yet but I’m excited to see what other useful features the watch has.

If you want a watch your going to be able to take off steer clear of this one. Once you put it on you’ll never want to take it off. The functions this watch comes with are truly spectacular.

Great features some quirks
on April 15, 2019

This watch has potential to be amazing. But because of a few quirks it ends up being g only pretty good.
Other than the price the only issue I have with it is, the floor counting can be finicky, works ok for a while then either does not count floors or adds too many. Requiring wat too many calibrations.
This watch seems to do a pretty good job at tracking steps and heart rate as well as track your rout via GPS. It also has loads of cool data to track and compare, really cool stuff here.
Overall I really like this watch although it took a couple days to get used to a botton only interface. It seems like a huge improvement over the fitbits I used to use.
I guess I would have one other disappointment and that is the screen is not that vibrant, it only displays a very muted 16 colors, so not great.
I definitely recommend it if you can afford it, but beware that it's not great with floor couting.

glass isn’t scratch proof unless you buy sapphire.

2 days and the glass already has a mark and a chip , all the models that aren’t sapphire would be a fragile item on your wrist .
