Wish I could rave...

Wanted to upgrade my Vivoactive for 2 reasons; battery life and the ability to drop pins on my routes. Wore my new 5s plus and it recorded 4+ miles more than both the trail sign's stated miles and my friend's Garmin 230, which was always within a tenth of a mile +/- of my Vivo. On a 20 mile hike 4+ miles is a huge margin of error. If the data my fenix provides is that off then the device is worthless to me. Additionally, the battery was at 25% after just under 7 hours of use. Changing the settings may improve battery life however leaving it at factory settings left me underwhelmed.
Would love to post screen shots of the data acquired by both devices but this format doesn't seem to allow it.

Great activity tracking, bad sleep tracking

After daily use of this watch for 3 months now, I can summarize my experiences as follows:
- Excellent GPS-based activity tracking features
- Excellent battery endurance
- Bad and wrong sleep tracking features. I can only confirm the complaints of thousands of other fenix 5 user's about GARMIN's ignorance to improve their sleep tracking of these watches.
If you are only in interested in the best activity tracking watch, this is your watch. If you want a mixture of decent activity tracking and correct sleep tracking, then look elsewhere else.

It’s ok, but def not great!!

I really thought it would have a brighter display, more colorful or at least a better resolution. For what I paid I actually expected something really classy and high quality ñ this looks like a cheap knockoff of what a Garmin watch should actually be!! I have to say I’m disappointed!!

Disappointing

I bought this watch specifically for the offline storage of Spotify playlist and for the accuracy of the GPS because I'm an avid trail runner. Beyond disappointed with both aspects of this watch.

BEST WATCH

I have always been satisfied with Garmin. I tried Apple Watch for a couple of months and it did not compare. I really don't have any complains! The only feature I would like to be worked on is the sleeping feature! It would be neat to be able to manually go to sleep mode like the first Vivoactive! I usually have to find third party apps to take count of my sleep time, wake up, and sleep averages. Besides that team Garmin all the way!

Great Athlete watch!

I bought and have been wearing it now for a week and love the watch. Originally I wore a Fitbit Ionic and felt it was more for some one trying to get fit. After researching and buying the Fenix 5S plus, this watch is more built for true athlete and someone into multiple sports. Great features and everything I was looking for in a watch.
