So my experience with this phone has been pretty enjoyable over the 6 months that I've had this device. The camera is pretty good, but has to have some good lighting. The battery lasts a little less then a day, but the battery pack adds a lot more hours. The speaker mods are useful whenever I want good quality sound without any wires. The performance is not as good as the price would seem it is, but it is powerful enough for some light gaming. My favorite features are probably the Moto navigation bar, the shake for flashlight, and slide on one side for one handed use. Some of these features you can only get if you root your device, but it comes stock with this phone. The one downside is the slow updates, but all the other features kinda make that a non issue. It still gets updates, but not as fast as other devices. If it got faster updates, then I would probably rate it a five star. So my experience has been tremendous, and I may stick with Moto for my next phone.

Glass phone and no headphone jack, Just WHY?

I've been a devoted Moto user for years but this one is plain and simple a miss. The lack of a real headphone jack is terrible, I don't want to have to use an adapter or even worse yet another thing to charge, wireless headphones. Worst of all is on what planet is an all glass phone a good idea? Fragile and slippery, great combination for a phone, not. If I want an iPhone I'd buy an iPhone. Please go back to what makes Moto phones great

So far it's a decent phone. Seems powerful enough. I had a Droid before this one and this seems be keeping up with what I expected from a Motorola.
Cons: This thing is slick... not cool slick, just slick. The surface/back is hard to grip. So you WILL need a case if you want to hold onto this thing. The external speaker is pretty weak. The fingerprint reader is a bit too close to the volume buttons. It doesn't come with a charging/headphone jack combo. Camera sticks out the back A LOT, but once you get a case that should not be a problem.
Pros: The fingerprint reader works very well. Easiest phone I've had so far to unlock once I got a few fingers programmed in. Camera seems to work pretty well so I guess it makes up for it sticking out so much. OS is pretty close to plain Android and that's always been a selling point for me. The batter/moto mod that came with it should be handy now and then too.

Good computer, bad phone, mods unavailable

I bought this phone several weeks ago. The app functions and battery life are far superior to my dying droid turbo. Camera is fine, but not more impressive than older ones. My real disappointment is with its function as a phone (I may be unusual in still using my phone to make and receive calls). Speakers are really bad, calls come in uniformly soft, even at max volume, and with much worse interference than the old turbo. Speaker phone function is a little better, but I can't always use the phone on speaker or bluetooth. My second major disappointment is that Moto mods for wireless and turbo-battery are unavailable. I presume they are phasing out this line and disappointed to have purchased already obsolete technology. Returning if possible.

Best phone ever

I use a Motorola z play to be honest I have been a Motorola fan 10 years standing so I bought this model z play and I never wanted to go bck on any phone the phone is very fast, best battery life, great speakers, perfect body shape, vivid images, great camera. Will recommend it a zillion times.

Thumbprint on the side... Inovative but most bumper cases might interfere with that. Personally, I'd rather have the fingerprint reader still on the face. For a midgrade phone, it's not bad, but some areas can be better, such and speaker(s). I have the Z2Force, and my wife has the Z2Play. Her biggest complaint is the speaker.

We purchased these phones as a replacement for our Moto X Pure Edition. We waited as long as possible but our phones were 3 years old and we used them a lot. We love Motorola and were waiting on something that caught our attention. Well, the One Power wasn't released at this time so we looked at the Z3 Play. We liked the specs and the mods were interesting to us. We took a chance and we are so glad we did! The mods are great and the battery mod it came with is wonderful! We also love the Alexa speaker. We have also purchased the Hassleblad camera and plan to get more! You cannot go wrong with this phone...period! Don't hesitate, purchase today! You won;t regret it!
