Pretty cool T-Rex

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My eight year old son has had this for a couple weeks now. He is an absolute die hard fan of the Jurassic Park/World movies and generally loves all things dinosaur. He was beyond ecstatic when he got this and immediately ripped into the box and got to putting all the pieces together. He was able to assemble it on his own with little frustration, a few of the pieces really have to be just right or they don’t fit. it really is like a puzzle. We enjoyed using the dna key to get the different parts moving. My sons favorite was seeing the lungs moving. It’s sturdy and educational and great for pretend play as well. The dinosaur is rather large and has easily became one of his favorites to play with but more so for just the dinosaur itself and not the STEM features. After taking the pieces off multiple times it has gotten harder for him to put them back on, almost like they don’t fit the same way. Overall this is a pretty cool T-Rex toy and it was fun to talk about different organs and how they work with my son.

More than expected.

I was initially worried that it may not hold my sons attention due to the complexity but it held his attention for quite a good amount of time. Not only was he able to disassemble and reassemble but it broadened his imagination. Now instead of just playing with dinosaurs he became a dinosaur doctor. Great toy!

Falls short of expectations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this T Rex anatomy toy for review. This toy leaves a lot to be desired. The first problem was the assembly of the dinosaur. My 8 year old could not get the pieces to stay together and neither could my 11 year old. I was able to get the dinosaur together but when we used the “DNA” key to animate the dino the leg would not stay on. The only thing that my kids liked about the dinosaur was watching the lungs inflate. My kids we’re not impressed with this toy and would not chose to play with it. Sadly I would not recommend this toy. It was a great idea to see the inside of the dinosaur and how the body works, but the design fell short.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2 children enjoy playing with the dinosaur. The pieces were lost very easily like most toys with small pieces. The dinosaur teaches about how the inside of the body works.

Educational but difficult to manipulate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Mattel's Mattel Play, Rate, & Review Program. I played with it with my children, as well as the students in my class. We really enjoyed using and manipulating the different parts of the dinosaur. I found it very educational for everyone. The downside is that many of the pieces are hard to take apart and put back together. I had a difficult time as an adult, so for a child it was nearly impossible. Some of the pieces that were supposed to come off were so tightly attached that I was afraid I would break them if I tried to pull them apart. I was eventually able to loosen the pieces enough to pull them apart. I think it's a great toy but much parental assistance would be necessary for smaller children.
