A challenging and fascinating build, but...

While I have built several LEGO Technic sets, they have mostly been the motorized heavy machinery type. This is my first car. The build itself was very satisfying. One needs to be VERY careful during construction, because a wrong placement of a piece can result in having to tear down the model in order to fix the error - so double check as you go along. With a set this complex, it is often difficult to see exactly where a constructed module is to fit into the model. I think LEGO needs on occasion to provide a more close-up view of where a piece or module needs to go. The internal construction is top notch. Everything interlocks so the model is rugged. It is almost a shame that so much of that ends up being covered up with the exterior pieces.
My problem with the set has to do with the exterior pieces. Pieces on the front and back corners are often only held on with a single LEGO "post." Given the weigh of the model, those pieces often fall off. While the rear end of the model is solid, the front end grille is wobbly and flimsy. My gear shifter seems to be jammed, but given that it only gets the pistons to move faster, it is not a biggie. In fact, for all the expense, there is not much to play with. Meanwhile, the Technic construction equipment (with their motors) are alot more fun. A great build, but not much to do with it after it is done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A beautiful car with a few problems

Let me just say that building this car was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. That being said there are a few problems with the finished product. The suspension is not strong enough to support the car, There are some rather large gaps in between some panels and the front left wheel rubs against the shifter mechanism when fully turned to the left. Other than that it’s a fantastic car!
Good job LEGO!

Excellent choice kit

It never stops to amaze me the engineering and imagination that goes into designing this beautiful kits. I have built the Carrousel, the Roller Coaster, the Ferris Wheel, the Star Destroyer and the Millenium Falcom among others but when it comes to detail and ingenuity, this kit has it all. I am taking my time building it to enjoy at its fullest the intricate details it has. Yes, there are some minor flaws in the instruction books but I use those to enhance my ability to build. I still have some work to do, the kit is not finished. But I had to to write this review. The way the engineering of parts and how the power train and front section mate, so perfectly aligned parts, incredible! If I was to find a real flaw, it would be that the kit is not motorized. But needles to say somebody will find a way of doing so. The box is a work of art! The way the different parts boxes are printed and placed to simulate the rear of the car (one section) is great. I plan to use the box to showcase the kit. I have pre-ordered de Lamborghini Sian and expect delivery within the next days. My only hope is that the kit is as challenging or better than this. Thank you for keeping me active through the pandemic with the kits. They helped my household stay calmed and at ease. Yes, I recommend Lego kits to any and all my family and friend's. They keep your mind active, help keep your mechanical and motor skills active and in shape and are a very good promoting family playing together.
P.S.: As a general comment, it is sad to see so many excellent kits “out of stock”.

Best toy ever!

When you open the Lego Bugatti you say wow, with the custom wheels on the right side on the box this Bugatti Chiron is awesome with the w16 engine, and how the pistons move on the drive transmission mode. The gearbox is very detailed with all of the gears and how you can control them from the driver’s seat. The spoiler mechanism is very good and Lego did a very good job with using the flexible pipes to capture the Bugatti’s iconic back light as well as the horseshoe grill. The interior of this car is phenomenal with the speed-o-meters, the seats, the steering wheel and how it actually works. Though the doors are a little flimsy with this set. The front portion of this car is very impressive of how they used some Lego system pieces, the instructions are not that hard to follow in this set. Overall, I would give this set 5 stars. By the way, I am posting it for my son who is 9 years old and was able to build the entire car on his own. I don't think you have to be 16+ to build this. As long as you are good with reading drawings and have a long attention span then you can do it. The coolest thing it shows how the car functions and kids can easily understand the mechanism of a sports car.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A couple errors, but still absolutely incredible

There were a couple problems with my in particular set. If it were not for these problems, this would be a full on five star review.
1. There was one piece missing. The piece was not important to the build however, just a detail piece and I was able to continue building without it.
2. I received faulty instructions. I'm assuming that LEGO prints it's instruction books in sections, especially because my first instruction book had one section repeated. I was missing steps 247-335, but the section with steps 335-416 was in there twice! Luckily, I was able to print out the missing section and (after about 30 min of printing) was able to finish the build.
There were a ton of pluses though. The set itself is incredible. A true work of art and engineering. The gearbox is insanely complicated, but works incredibly well. The unboxing experience is like nothing else. You immediately know that this set is a big deal and will be challenging and fun to build.
After the build, I contacted LEGO to let them know about the errors with my set. They were extremely helpful and within a couple days, I had new (and this time complete) instructions, and the missing piece.

Overall, this is definitely my favorite LEGO set so far. I just wish I give it five stars.

the chiron in its technic design is very boxy in its shape. But i loved building the gearbox and the w16 engine. Even made my own "openable hood" option for over the motor to view it better. May even make my own upgrade to make the whole rear shell removable for even better internal viewability of mechanics that power this beast such as shocks and motor and gears and such. Overall, very pleased and cannot wait for my fkp 37.

Great product

I originally thought to buy this for a summer project (I built it in a few days) but it ended up being more of a model that I think I will keep for a long time. It is good for anyone who wants a challenge but isn’t the most difficult thing. Putting the 2 sections together was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. Overall love it can’t wait to build another similar product some day.
