Great Set

I'm an adult Lego fan and a car enthusiast, so this purchase came very natural.
First of all, this is a really great LEGO design. I can appreciate the work and effort that went into it. It took me about 20 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the building process. The car is massive and looks very impressive from every angle. It was an amazing experience putting the engine and transmission together and also covering everything up to give it the Chiron shape. Here are my impressions. I'll give it 5 stars for what it is and how I enjoyed it, but I'll also list what I think could have been done better.
what I liked:
- great building experience. enjoyed every moment of it.
- impressive size and weight. I can't believe how massive this beast is! It is a 12 pounds hunk of plastic once assembled!
- awesome exterior to make it instantly recognizable. Yes, the back looks more complete than the front but I believe it was much easier to design due to less curves and easier geometry. If you are looking for a 1:1 reproduction you shouldn't be looking at lego.
- awesome interior with great seat design and console. It's a great bonus for a technic set and I'm glad they added that extra detail.
- genius shifting mechanism in the cockpit
- nice looking, absolutely massive WR16 engine. Looks awesome in motion. While you can't see the gearbox in action, at least you can remove the engine cover and see all 16 cylinders firing!!!
- great rear wing mechanism.
Now to the things that could have been done better:
- Suspensions have a hard time supporting the weight of the car. Need stiffer springs to bring the thing back up.
- headlights don't look like the real thing, which are square halos with black in the center in the real Chiron and give it a characteristic agressive look. I feel this was a missed opportunity to make it look even more like the actual car. Could have put black square stickers/printed elements at the back of the lights to achieve that effect.
- Cylinders only move immediately when you move the car in the reverse gear. In forward gears you have to push the car 1 foot until you see cylinders moving, making it difficult to spot gear shift impact.
- Changes in cylinder firing frequency due to the gear shifts are almost impossible to spot when shifting through the gears due to the previous issue of the cylinders not moving right away when moving the car and the gear ratios employed.
- It is impossible to know which gear you are in since the sequential gearbox just keeps shifting 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1-2-3 ...…. Would be nice if it would stop you from shifting beyond 7 or lower than 1.
- turning radius could have been improved.
While not cheap it's still a highly recommended set. But when was a Bugatti ever cheap ...

So much fun!

I worked on this build with my nephew and it was an overall great build with many intricate steps. We had a lot of fun working on this car! Plus, it makes a great display piece!
There were only a couple spots where the directions became a bit confusing but with a little “trial and error”, I was able to figure it out!
I’d defiantly like to see more Technic sets like this one on the market. Maybe a Formula 1 car, Ferrari 458 or Mclaren P1? (That would be awesome!)

Easire build than the Porsche, lots of fun.

I originally was not going to get this set, however I went to see it and decided it was a set worth a try.
I started the build and worked on it a couple of hours a night. It is an easier build than the Porsche, and it is more satisfying. The design is good, the model is dense, there is not a lot of room to motorize it without removing other parts.
The model weighs a lot, it has some interesting challenges, and it is a lot of fun to put it together.
The color scheme is ok, the model is vey sturdy once completed, The engine being visible is a great feature.
The shift mechanism is nice, even though the transmission is not visible with the body put together.
The designer did a great job capturing the look and feel of the car, the build process was enjoyable even the way they actually marry the two halves of the car.
If you want a fun build, this is worth a try.

First LEGO Technic Build Experience

This was my first LEGO technic build and I loved it!
Haven’t made many LEGO sets before, but I throughly enjoyed making the Bugatti Chiron!
I could only spent 1.5hrs per night; I would have preferred to spend more to reduce the overall time to build. Some basic mistakes set me back a bit time, but good learning and experience.
Once the front and back chassis’s are built and joint, the rest comes along nicely.
5 boxes altogether with multiple packets of LEGO in each bag. Sorting the pieces upfront helped along with place items in small bowls for easier access (especially stopping and starting the build process).
I had a missing part, which is annoying. Looking to secure that missing part now (piece from the bag for the boot).
Looking for a cover now to avoid getting duct! Throughly recommend this set and I am looking forward to making another few (albeit the lapse time will be long).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tantalising experience

Hmmm where to start, firstly I am an avid Lego Connoisseur and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the construction process.
I liked the precision on the schematics for the construction of this superb specimen of a hyper car model. The detail the components made the experience sooo much better, I loved this.
I need more, please Lego give me more.
Overall I would recommend very good piece of kit.

An excellent model, the new gearbox is superb, it's a shame it isn't more visible. The instructions are very clear and the parts are easy to fit. It's a shame the engine area doesn't open up as the engine is almost totally hidden in the finished model. Superb detail, the luggage bag is better than the one in the Porsche. A great companion model to the Porsche.
