I wasn't going to buy but I'm glad I did. Building was much more fun and technical than the Porsche!! I recommend.

I'll likely never be able to own one, this will su

I've loved Legos since about 1992, and I still have nearly every piece of every set I have ever owned, and have since passed them on to my children. The Bugatti Chiron was my first technic set since the late nineties, and i forgot how challenging they can be. This one was the most difficult set I've ever built, and I just recently completed the 7541 piece millennium falcon. This is half the number of pieces and still took about 20 hours. Even thought it had some frustrating parts, It was an absolute blast to build! The amount of thought and planning that went into the making of this masterpiece is astounding, the fact that the lego group created a functuional AWD drivetrain, W16 engine, AND functional gearbox just blows my mind. If youre up for a challenge, and an incredible build, this is definitely up your alley.

A New Build Experience
on July 7, 2018

In my younger days, I built street rods and restored old cars. When this model appeared in one of my automotive publications, I was intrigued. Being a car nut, the Bugatti auto has always been a fascination. Although I was not familiar with modern day Lego products, I had to have this set.
While waiting for the model to arrive I watched part of the 6 hour build video and listened to the blog. However, I did not appreciate the level of difficulty this model involved. Needless to say, my build time was about twice as long as the video. The biggest initial challenges were recognizing some of the individual pieces from the pictures. Then later in the build, finding where the pieces fit was sometimes perplexing. Overall the whole building process was very enjoyable and rewarding.
The quality of the packaging and design of the build was outstanding. I marvel at the fact that there were no pieces missing.
I admit that I am now hooked on building other Lego models, but that's OK since I have plenty of time to devote to this pleasurable endeavor-- did I mention I'm 76?

Surprise in every bag
on July 7, 2018

This is so well designed and sculpted it looks undoubtedly like a Chiron. At this size and price that is important.
The technical details on the engine and transmission are, in one word, elegant. What was more enjoyable is that in each "bag" of the 13 there was one surprise, one smile-worthy ah-ha moment.
The only three issues I have with the entire experience are: 1) the printing on the back sides of the boxes makes a scrambled image of the Chiron's rear, which is an egregious packaging design detail that shouldn't have left the factory, a real missed opportunity for a wow factor. 2) The front end of the model feels very loose, very unsecured relative to the solidity of the rear. 3) 2nd gear clicks when running the model on a treadmill at low speed (<2mph), though all the rest do run smoothly, including reverse.
Overall, if this size model fits one's budget, it is a must-build.

It's awesome to hear you've enjoyed your Bugatti! It definitely shouldn't be clicking, though. If it's making noise while in motion, it's likely that something's a little off in the build, causing two pieces to clack together. I'd recommend double-checking that all the gears are in just the right spot, and that each one has enough room to smoothly turn.

Bugatti Sanity Break
on July 6, 2018
Posted by: Ava1870
Provided a much needed break from the stress of life and much more engaging than a couch and TV marathon. The engine and gearbox were my favorite parts of this engineered piece of excellence. After the build I found EL wire and added a working tail light and some undercarriage lighting just for fun. The amount of time spent building why not add another hour or two to make it your design?

Chiron is awesome!

I was excited to get the set after I ordered it. The build was fun but challenging the way the pictures in the book were layer out, but I think that is what made it fun. Really had to pay attention to detail. I think it was worth the price. Glad I bought it.
