Doors

The doors on this set are a bit flimsy. They can easily come apart if the set was dropped.

Amazing stuff...

The Chiron build is quite involving. It will take you hours and hours every day. But the packaging is organized into bags so that you complete each element in stages. This is very useful as you can aim to complete 1-2 bags each day and then you know exactly where you left off. The manual is well though-out, but some elements you need to pay close attention to the pictures and come back. The more you build the better you understand the logic of how things come together.
The amount of engineering that has gone into this thing is astonishing (and I am an engineer myself). You don't get to realize this until you actually build it yourself and see how the gearbox and engine come together.
One think is for sure: you will not be bored!! Just make sure you schedule some time for your partner, or you will get carried away...

Still feel like a kid

This is the first build I've done in over 15 years. Got this as a gift cause I love my cars and seen it and I wanted it. It took 18hrs to build, did at least 2-3hrs every night after work.

So um... this was fun i spent hours building it. it was super fun to see the pieces go together or should i say satisfying. but yeah this was my overall favorite build ever i would say. there are a couple things though like the doors are flimsy and some things are badly designed but other than that AWESOME!!!!!!

Hey there! This car wasn't designed to run on its own. Do you mean that it's not rolling when pushed?
If so, something's probably a little off in your build, and rebuilding should help. You'll want to make sure that every piece is in just the right spot, and that everything is pressed together tightly (except gears, wheels, axles, and anything else that needs to turn - those parts need a little space to move).
If you need a hand troubleshooting your build, you can always get in touch at LEGO.com/Service.

Great Build but bad ending

I just want to start out by saying I loved building this. 1 thing I hated was the stickers but they always suck putting on, so yeah. The only issue I had was the last piece to the entire build was missing. I ordered the piece already but that was just bad because I was so excited to finish it and now I have to wait a couple days for the very last piece. But I totally recommend this to anyone and everyone.

A challenging and fascinating build, but...

While I have built several LEGO Technic sets, they have mostly been the motorized heavy machinery type. This is my first car. The build itself was very satisfying. One needs to be VERY careful during construction, because a wrong placement of a piece can result in having to tear down the model in order to fix the error - so double check as you go along. With a set this complex, it is often difficult to see exactly where a constructed module is to fit into the model. I think LEGO needs on occasion to provide a more close-up view of where a piece or module needs to go. The internal construction is top notch. Everything interlocks so the model is rugged. It is almost a shame that so much of that ends up being covered up with the exterior pieces.
My problem with the set has to do with the exterior pieces. Pieces on the front and back corners are often only held on with a single LEGO "post." Given the weigh of the model, those pieces often fall off. While the rear end of the model is solid, the front end grille is wobbly and flimsy. My gear shifter seems to be jammed, but given that it only gets the pistons to move faster, it is not a biggie. In fact, for all the expense, there is not much to play with. Meanwhile, the Technic construction equipment (with their motors) are alot more fun. A great build, but not much to do with it after it is done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Love The Details And The Overnight Bag Is Great! I Just Wish Lego Would Create A Figure That Fits Inside.
