Amazing Building Experience, Functions Are O.K.

After looking at a lot of online content about this set, I finally decided to buy it and build it myself. I definitely do not regret doing so. It was a very complex build requiring intense focus, and I had to undo lots of work multiple times because I had made minor mistakes. However, I still enjoyed the building experience because of its complicated and interesting nature. It is clear that a lot of time and effort went into designing this set, and I can appreciate the idea of its functions, and the engineering that went into them, but unfortunately not everything works as well as I'd hoped. The transmission jams very often when changing gears, which is easily fixed but is still irritating. Also, the suspension often sags under the weight of the car and does not spring back up very far on its own when pushed down. Overall, it was a great building experience and it looks amazing once finished, but don't be expecting a perfect working model for show-and-tell.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thanks for your review! I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had some trouble with your LEGO® set. What you're describing is very unusual. Please make sure that the pieces in the transmission aren't too tightly pressed, so it's easy for your to change the gears. The suspension should be A-okay as well and spring back up on their own. If you think there is an issue or If you'd like a hand troubleshooting the build, please get in touch with our brick experts at LEGO.build/Service. In the meantime, enjoy the drive!
This is an excellent set. The build is challenging but not crazy hard, especially for a technic set. My one gripe would be with the engine section of the car. Lego seems to have put some thought in designing this engine and its newer design (different from the usual technic trucks and what not but with the same type of pieces) is actually really cool. Unfortunately when the entire model is completed its just buried in all the parts. I would've loved if lego would not have covered it up so we could see it but I do understand what they were doing and trying to maintain the look of the car. The value here for this set is completely in the display. As such there are not many play features. As far as a display model with its number of pieces i think this set is well worth the money. Would recommend.
The set is no ordinary set, everything in the set works so well, the color scheming, the realness of the gear shifts, the engine (although it is covered a little bit). I would have wished to see the working components a little bit more and I feel like the gear shifting is a little bit sticky. Also the suspension is barley holding up the wheels, but hey, it is still a great set, so great, that my dad also wanted to build it, and he hates legos! I had to build it again, because it was just so amazing. It took me about 12 hours to rebuild it in one day. So when my birthday comes up I am getting the rsr and having a drag race!
Having completed the Porsche 911 RSR a few months ago, my son and I were eager to step it up a notch. First of all, unlike the Porsche, all the boxes and bags are numbered, making the build progress much quicker, as you don't spend tons of time searching for parts. The build takes a lot of focus, and we made a few mistakes early on, but luckily didn't have to disassemble much to fix the errors. We loved the details throughout, even the handbag that goes in the trunk! I don't agree with many of the negative comments, but do agree the doors could have used an additional hinge and some sort of stop to keep them from pushing too far into the cabin. Otherwise a fun and challenging build for those who want to tackle something beyond a basic build.
This lego was an amazing thing to build. I broke my arm so I had to use only one hand so it was easy enough for that. still the coolest result of a lego set i have
I literally just received the Bugatti. What a beautiful set! All of the reviews are accurate. This is a must buy! I'm upset. I dont think I'm going to open the box. The box in itself is remarkable. Not sure if I should build or leave it alone as a collector set I've seen videos on unboxing and I want to experience it but again, do I just keep it as a collector set?
I got this myself, and it is the best set I have so far! Although I screwed up and required me to undo nearly 50 pages of work, I figured it out and the finished product is epic! I think my favorite part is the interior with the plush-like seats, the awesome gauges behind the steering wheel and so much more! I adore the box nearly as much as the set; it is the most luxury box I've gotten and it has beautiful pictures of other Bugatti's on the inside. Although many people despise the speed key, I don't see a problem with it. The ONLY thing about this set that I don't like is the doors. They come off as flimsy and odd to open. Overall, It is a beautiful set, and I hope it never gets taken off shelves.
