I have just reintroduced myself to Lego. I bought the Merc Truck about 2 years ago, before that I haven’t purchased anything for 35 years. I thought the truck was an oddity, a good set which I totally enjoyed building... but sadly, this is the norm.. and I’m addicted once more. It wasn’t an easy build, comparable to the truck, but it WAS fun. From the packaging to the finished car, you know you’ve got something special. Working steering, gearbox, pistons and spoiler all add to the model. A lack of motor functions could be off putting to some, but honestly, you could not fit them in.
I have had a recent stroke which impaired my “reasoning”, but I find that building is a therapy to help combat this. I work as a engineer and I consider that it is invaluable training to try and improve problem solving, hand - eye coordination and reading of plans. I have bought the rough terrain crane and the bucket excavator (and not mentioning 4 more of the creator expert sets). The only problem is the cost, that’s a lot of therapy!

A very high quality set

This set was my long awaited birthday present. I got the Porsche a few years back, and I was extremely excited for that, but this was a whole new story. I got it and spend the whole day building it, and I barely saw the light of day, on the build day. The build is a bit boring, but make sure to take a picture and a break when you finish the transmission, as you will never see it in the same cool way, after you put the engine on top. The final build is rewarding. The interior is especially more detailed than the Porsche, but everything is at least a bit more detailed. I recommend building building this set over a span of at 2-3 days. I would recommend this set even though the price is a bit of a hurdle to jump over. Overall a fantastic set can’t wait for the next super/hypercar.

Best Quality of LEGO

This was probably the most amazing LEGO set I’ve ever gotten. I’ve been collecting LEGO sets for almost ten years and it goes a long way to say that this is my favorite set. I personally am not a fan of technic products. This is only the second technic product I’ve ever built with the Porsche being the first and I love these two. I loved the Porsche and I wondered if LEGO could make it better and they did with this set. The only issue I could find is not making an even number of pieces. My OCD kicks in wondering why it is 3599 and not 3600 pieces. I would definitely recommend this set.

Awesome car

I really, really liked the first part of the build, all those small cogs that turned perfectly with each other. It was also very sturdy and nothing seemed to be spared to make it hold together. The steering, gearbox, suspension and even the seats was fun to build.
The more, I don't want to say boring, less fun part was the body. By then I almost felt that I was just doing the polishing and polishing a car is not what I call fun but hey, you need to do it anyway.
I would love to see more complex, good looking cars like this and the Porche. I would buy them right away I think.
How about a green Aston Martin Vantage?
It was a huge difference between the Bugatti and the Porches body. The Porche had more holes in it so it was nice to see that was improved to this model.
Need lights. Since it is a model more than for kids to play with I would like to have lights added from start. Optional to buy power source but front and back lights would make it even better than it is now.
Ooh and fix the flimsy doors, they are not very sturdy at all.

Best Lego ever !!!

amazing how LEGO has improved. Loved the functional pistons and steering. The lift for the spoiler was a bit too much. Halfway through the building of Bugatti made me look for my next build. Didn’t want my Bugatti to be lonely. :-).
Got the Porsche and saw how much better the Bugatti was. Looking forward to the next supercar to come out.

The best Chiron model kit on the market
on July 18, 2018

This LEGO Chiron kit is STELLAR. It took me in total 18.5 hours (12 late evenings sessions) of getting these 3.5k+ pieces built together to this awesome looking display model (actually this is my 2nd one following the Porsche kit which also is an outstanding piece of art and of engineering craftmanship).
It takes more than just the playful skills of a kid to build this Chiron kit and this work provides a lot of sweat even to the more advanced builder.
The best advice is to follow each and every single step in the two manual books in order to avoid any frustration when it comes to the marriage and to the very detailed body/frame.
I took pictures every time I finished with one of the 13 bags, so I could show my building progress step by step to family and friends (besides slapping my shoulders what a great result I accomplished with my own two hands...)
The engine with its 16 pistons/valves is my favorite (zero flaws!), shifting the gears is quite challenging, but who dares to critize anyone who was involved in this professional engineering project process? Certainly not me. LEGO and BUGATTI both did a great job on the design of the kit and of the box(es). Superior quality materials result in an adequate price tag, so anyone who wants to buy cheap gets cheap, of course.
The body shape and color looks authentic, the interior and wheels too. The plastic parts which form the horseshoe on the front is indeed the one and the only thing that looks cheapish to me.
I am confident that LEGO is on the right track by having invented this supercar series within their Technic sets. Looking forward to the next exciting one (in 2020?)!

An Incredible Model
on June 10, 2018

A truly brilliant Technic supercar. This is a challenging build with great detail, especially the new gearbox components which make for very smooth gearchanges, and the enormous engine. I have never enjoyed myself so much building a Lego model.
My only small criticism is the slightly loose inner front wing panels and corresponding gaps, which can be made snug with a crossbrace under the bonnet without any loss of appearance.
Definitely a must buy this year.
