Very cheap to not provide both sets of 2 in 1!

The kit comes with only one set of instructions. We brought it for the other truck as it is advertised as a two in one. For that amount of money I would expect both sets. Very poor show Lego!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our Technic sets often feature a second build option. Since the second build is an optional bonus, the set won't come with a physical copy of instructions. As shown on the back of the box, the instructions for these builds will be available for download on our website at LEGO.com/Service.

Quality Control Problems

Cool set. Large sets are so much fun. However, this had major quality control issues. 4 missing pieces, and several pieces were in different bags as well as a few pieces actually different color. Looks like the robots checking the pieces on this one need a software update.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a frustrating experience - that definitely isn't normal.
Have you tried rebuilding the set at all? Not finding the parts you need in the right bag or having wrong colors can be a sign that some similar-looking parts were swapped earlier on in the build. Try taking the set apart and comparing the pieces you have to the parts list in the back of the instructions.
If you find that parts are missing, it's easy to request replacements. Just go to LEGO.com/Service and choose the "Bricks & Pieces" option. And if you need a hand troubleshooting the build, you'll also find our contact info at that link. We'd be happy to help!

Great build!

Bought this for my birthday so my 3 year old son and I could build it together. He lost interest after a few minutes.
The build itself was great, very detailed, easy to follow instructions.
I've built both versions of the kit and it's been a ton of fun. Everything works well and looks great!

Missing pieces

Got to bag 3rd section of the build and have a lot of missing piece. Have built a few technic and this has been the only one with missing parts.

Oh no! It’s very rare for a LEGO® set to be missing pieces. Usually you’ll find them stuck in the packaging, used in place of a similar piece, or hiding somewhere near your building area.

Great detail alongside impressive size

The set was fun to build and when finished the truck is very big and has a great sense of scale and detail to it.

I received this kit For Christmas but have not built it yet. I have opened the box looked at the pieces and reviewed the building instructions. Looking forward to the build.
Have read some reviews and noticed that some felt it should have a V-8 engine. Here in Canada and the USA almost all of our highway trucks are exclusively inline 6 cylinder motors. Lego has designed this model true to the power found under the hood in this North American machine.
The only thing Lego could have done better, is for this model to have a longer trailer like the ones we have on the roads here in Canada and the USA.

Been a long while...

... since I built any LEGO™ on this scale, so when the opportunity to do so was made possible I finally decided on this wonder.
The detail this set goes to lives up to my previous Technic experiences (late 80's/early 90's) - I especially love the chains that hold the container to the lifts.
My only (teeny, tiny) gripe was that the packing count wasn't as accurate as it should (OK, maybe could) have been - despite the piece count being spot on, however - & only one piece was 'faulty' (wrong colour)... but it may be entirely me being way too pedantic. :)
Totally worth the time it took to build & attention to detail is, again, well up to Technic™ standards.
I would recommend this to a friend!
