It Ain't heavy It's My Canon EOS-1Dx

I have only had this fine camera for a day, It does all thus far that I anticipated. Full frame, very fast and built like a tank.
It is in my modest opinion, 2 camera's in one. Hence the seemingly steep price. Action-sports, Lanscapes - portraits and Ceremony type events.
Best advice, If new or even a veteran Canon photographer - Read The User's Manual, then for good measure read a second time.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Difficult to use, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu

Pretty Good Camera

The 1DX offers several improvements over its predecessors but is still far from perfect. The increase in speed and the advances in autofocus performance are the most remarkable aspects of this camera. Image quality is similar to the 1DsMark III but the high ISO performance did not meet my expectations after reading the promotional information. Weight and size are still somewhat problematic but the biggest disappointment is the battery performance compared to earlier iterations of the Canon professional series cameras. Previously, I never had to carry spare batteries when shooting with 600 or 800 mm IS lenses in cold weather, but the 1DX burns through a battery much faster than before. The build quality is top level and having used this camera under demanding conditions I would expect the durability to be above average. I recommend the 1DX for professionals and serious amateurs who are seeking a durable, high performance camera that can be used in a variety of shooting situations.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky

A MUST CAMERA

Purchased this camera about 2 months ago. Took it to the Bahamas. Shot photos at 4:30 in the morning and the ISO did such a great job photos came out looking like it was in the middle of the day. As far as action shooting it surpassed what I thought the camera would do. Crystal clear photos and has allowed me to finally get the shots I have been looking for. Used to use the EOS 50D and upgraded to this camera and will regret spending the money. Only downside is no auto for those of you who are used to using the auto option. Myself I don't use auto. If you want to get serious about shooting this camera will make you learn to shoot in manual. The controls are great as far as adjusting shots on the fly. The change of the controls allow for this to be done very quickly with minimal time. Love being able to turn camera sideways and shoot with shutter button in same spot as tho I was shooting horizontally.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: a little bulky but that is ok.

very good but AF points are hard 2 see with primes

very fast motor drive and AF is excellent. The only horrible thing about the "intelligent viewfinder" is that the AF points are translucent and shooting in continuos servo AF the pare practically invisible and VERY hard to see. I missed MANY shots because of this. Also using primes 1.2 and 1.4 the focus points become even more transparent and in bright daylight are almost invisible. Canon needs to go back to the old way AF points which were bright red and clearly visible as with the 1D Mark IV and Canon 5D Mark II ( The 5D mark III and all newer cameras has this incredibly stupid "Intelligent viewfinder"! Iso is very good with some noise reduction up to 12800

Best by far in pro DSLR's

ima keep it plain and simple, because all of the facts and specs can be found on the website. This is my latest DSLR, I upgraded from the 1d mark4. This is my second camera from the 1d series, and I felt comfy, because the menus and controls were very familiar. I still haven't been able to find a negative thing yet about the camera. I just wish that the camera had more than one tripod hole at the bottom. I like using the black rapids strap, and I also like to keep my tripod mount connected to the base of the camera also. I know its weird, but that second hole would make a great sum of users happy next go round, and I doubt it cost more to drill that extra hole. Besides that, I can't find anything negative about the camera.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Simple controls/menu, awesome iso range and response
Cons: noisy
