I love this printer. When I print something by the time I get to the printer it’s already waiting on me. Very quite and clear pages. Not to mention that I am saving money on ink. Very satisfied with this printer, great value.

It holds LOTS of paper, is fast to start printing, auto 2 sided printing auto 2 sided scanning.
Am an old lady who is not tech savvy so I don't use all the many features of this printer, but the ones I do use are super. Have always had HP printers. They cannot compare to this one in any way shape or form. Have a 2 month old HP sitting in my garage because they won't help me fix the problems I had w/it. If I ever need another printer it will be a Brother.

Overall, an excellent machine

Setup was easy and the cartridges do have a full portion of ink---unlike some other printer makers with their ten pages-and-done ink supplies. The printer is large but not THAT large. It easily fits on the corner of my small desk. The two drawers are excellent for using different qualitites or types of paper and having a rear tray for special jobs provides efficiency and value for the user. Picture printing quality is excellent with two different settings, one for simple printing and another if you have serious needs. I highly recommend this unit and the price is very competitive. I would give it 5 stars but it has one odd glitch that might be my fault but it refuses to print from the rear tray at times. If I can figure out what's causing that I'll edit this riview and give it 5 stars.

Easy to get started

Very easy to get set up with all my various electronics. A little bigger and heavier than I imagined, but when you need 2 separate paper drawers, I guess that's the breaks.

Quick to print and scan. Love the MP tray. Can print a document with letter size and attached envelope with ease. No changing trays or re-loading envelopes.

It's been a workhorse so far

Bought it because it will feed and print 11x17. It prints great, at a decent speed. I use it for my home office and have been very pleased with its performance.
I would give five stars, except for the following: I had a problem with it going offline until I found a tip that said give it a dedicated IP on my router. Since doing that, the offline problem went away. But still, why doesn't DHCP work? Second issue, to load a tray with 11x17, you have to extend the tray and sticks out from the front of the printer about 6 inches. Not a killer problem, but this was not made clear in the information provided when I was researching the printer. Last reason for not giving the fifth star is, I've only had it a few months. No reason so far to believe it's not going to last and give good service, but only time will tell.

Desired enhancements now I work from home

This is my second Brother MFC printer. The MFC-4620DW went off to college, it is still a workhorse after six years. That printer replaced a competitor's product that stopped printing blue and would not accept the company provided remanufactured ink cartridges.
This much faster. I work from home and needed the dual-sided copy and scan. two paper trays means draft paper in one and bright paper in the other. It is nice having a "year's worth of ink". A PLUS were the drivers for Linux since I use several different OSs.
