Shopped for new generation 'tank' printer. With history of reliable products, the rother rose to the top of the list. Highly value the handling of 11x17 and printing on both sides.

Overall - it works good. I am disappointed that you can't set the printer to print draft quality from the computer to save on ink. Best quality print isn't always necessary. The ink cartridges do seem to last longer than in other brand printers I have had - so time will tell if it saves as much in cost to use.

It can print multiple sized papers but it gets confused at times to know from which area. It will want to print from the tray in the back as opposed to the bottom tray. It can jam pretty often.
I do get more printing from the cartridges and they aren't as expensive as my other printer.

Compact enough to setup the printer in my master room, at difference to other printers with 11" x 17" paper printing features. Faster than other inkjet printers and with features that compare with other expensive printers in the market. So far, it is what I need for the price tag.

This is my second MFC-J6545DW unit - the first locked up thinking there was a paper jam when there wasn't. After contacting Brother, I was sent a replacement or reconditioned printer in about 4 days. Great service. The replacement works fine most of the time. At times it has a mind of its own - it goes into the two sided print mode and locks there until the power is turned off and the machine started again fresh.

Easy set up, easy to use!

Display is easy to read and walks you through the installation perfectly. Color and speed are fantastic. The paper tray is easy to use. So far, it's "sipping" ink and even on draft mode, gives a good image.
