Easy set up

I really like my printer. The only challenge is that sometimes it will indicate that it's printing 11x17 but the output is a 8.5x11 on 11x17 paper. Not sure what the disconnect is, so I need to call to correct as it's probably something simple. Otherwise, the printer works great. Fast printing and scanning, which I need for working from home.

I brought this printer because my 8yr old printer was making noise and I hated the noise.I looked on line & found this printer. I had a Brother printer about 10 yrs ago and I loved it. The printer prints fast and quiet. It was easy to set up. Also i'm glad that Brother has an ink program so the ink can come to my home.

Poor Performance

The speed advertised is incorrect. It took 35 minutes to print 40 pages in color. Black and white also slow.

I am very pleased so far with my new Brother Inkjet Printer (MFC-J6545DW), it covers all the bases for my Home Office needs, and can produce impressive print quality on items that require more of a “pop” for customers and presentation. Being that I work with a lot of both mechanical and electrical prints, the larger format is very useful. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a “Home Office / Small Office” all in 1 unit, it performs well, and is backed with a nice warranty. Just as a “side note”, I replaced an old Brother Laser Printer with this unit, and so far, I’m very glad I did; my old Brother unit was 12 years old, so it served me well, but the print quality on this new Brother Inkjet, is simply impressive compared to the Brother Laser unit I replaced.

Can't connect to my laptop

I bought this printer because it said it was Vista compatible. I tried to add it to my laptop onto get this error code Error 0x00000643 which is a Windows Vista printer error. I called tech support but he told me he couldn't help me that I'd have to contact Microsoft. So now I have a printer that doesn't work with my laptop. This kinda makes me upset since you advertise that it's Vista compatible. The Tech guy should have found out a solution to my problem and called me back. Doesn't do what it's advertised to do.

Prints fast and at a low cost.

We have had other Brother multifunction office printers and this model is a step up. The ink tank technology is a big improvement and the cost of ink is a great value. The big problem we have had is printing from multiple Macs, IPads and IPhones. We keep having power off the printer and turn it back on in order for the machine to be able to find the printer even though nothing has changed on the network. Looking for help from Customer support because that just should not be necessary.
