Purchase was because we needed A3 paper ready to go without hand feeding. Handles our small office needs perfectly and prints like a champ and much faster than other printers we've had.

Connected or Wi-Fi?

The printer seems to work well when directly connected to the PC (via USB cable); however, when the Wi-Fi is engaged, the printer often shows up as being "offline" even though it is connected and shows as though on the printer itself. The package doesn't include a printer cable, so that's an additional expense as well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice big scan area.

I bought this printer because it has a large scan area. It can scan an11 by 17 area. I read other reviews about how it cut off part of the picture when you scan. It does seem to cut pics off if you use the touch screen. I used an option on the touchscreen to resize and that worked for doing a couple of scans. I used the utility program from my PC and chose a larger size paper than the one I was scanning and that worked for getting the whole picture scanned. I just cropped them down. So far no real problems.
