Exactly the Features I Needed

Too many pros to list but definitely needed the 11" x 17" scanner bed and double-sided printing is very helpful. Biggest Cons are ink cost and unit size, although the size is driven by the large scanner bed. Overall impressed with the design!

Good printer......instructions lacking

After installing from the CD, had trouble directing prints to the right paper trays. Had to call Brother to resolve. They walked me through re installing. A few steps at that time that were not present in the automatic install. Resolved my problem. Working fine now.

Can't believe how fast this prints. Gave it a 4 out of 5 simply because I haven't tried printing photo's yet. Rather a large printer for the home but for the job it has been doing so far I'll make room.

I had difficulty printing a two-sided greeting card. Finally got it.
The paper feeder is very sensitive. I've already had a paper jam.
I still can't play DVD music.

This printer has just about everything you could want in a printer. Here are a couple reasons I purchased it was. It has a is format printer. I have been looking for a printer that doesn't use printer cartridges. This makes since as the price of printer cartridges are more expensive than the tank ink and it last longer.

Nice All-In-One--Not Much Linux Support

This printer is a great upgrade from an older HP All-In-One from 2006; I bought it primarily for home use and admit that I have not used it extensively although it set up easily and has done everything I have asked of it very well. I gave it four stars only because of the spotty Linux support. It works very well and is recognized instantly on Windows 10 Pro,however.
I dual boot Arch Linux and Windows 10 Pro; there is a work around described in the Arch Wiki for driver downloads support from the Brothers website--I just need to spur myself to take the trouble to go through the process ( which in my opinion should not have to be done). Other than that, I really like the printer and would recommend it to others seeking an inkjet printer for small office or home use.
