[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I haven`t upgraded my printer in years, so I was excited to try this one out. Was nervous to set it up since I`m terrible at that kind of thing like your technologically-challenged parents terrible but this was super easy. Straight out of the box and onto the shelf, and really clear/simple instructions to download the driver. No joke, start to finish in about five minutes.Considering everything it can do, the size is great. Though make sure you check the dimensions, since it`s still a printer/scanner/copier, and that adds up. I was really impressed by all the functionalities. You can scan documents in a couple different ways and/or print to a couple different trays (with a designated tray for envelopes), all super easy to customize with a small touch screen and keypad. It probably has more functions than I will end up using (does anyone fax anymore?), but I would rather have the option there just in case. What I really like is that all the options are very clear, and I don`t have to navigate a maze of menus to get what I want. Not bragging, but I figured how to scan an image directly to an open file on my computer in a couple seconds no physical connection needed and no need to enter any info :)The best part about this printer is its speed. Double-sided prints are done in less than half the time it takes the commercial-grade printer I use at the office. Scanning is crazy fast too (so fast I didn`t realize it was actually scanning at first), and the screen wakes up really quickly if it was asleep. No waiting around here! The biggest drawback I`ve noticed is that the quality of color prints. The images come out really crisp and the color fills in smoothly, but it is a bit diluted, and not the vibrant contrast I was hoping for. It still prints the true color, but it seems like it could go on a bit thicker. Nothing I would hesitate to use, but enough for even someone like me to notice if looking at it critically. I didn`t notice any of these issues with black/white prints. All in all, I strongly recommend for an all-in-one, very easy to use, and very fast printer/scanner/copier. If you are looking for a really high-quality colored print, like a commercial-grade brochure, I think investing in some better ink cartridges would do the trick, but I would make sure before you purchase! Very happy and excited to start using for larger projects.

The printer arrived in great condition without any damages. The printer was very user-friendly when setting it up for use. I like the fact that it can be connected via wi-fi. When printing documents, the color is very rich and clear; with no fading or smudges on the paper. The printer was a bit larger than I anticipated, but it did not take up much room. The copying and scanning feature is very efficient. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and would highly recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. ASSEMBLY: I was a little intimidated by the size of the box. That quickly dissipated when I opened it and removed it from the box. The instructions says that you will need 2 people to remove it from the box. Well, I didn`t have another person so I did it myself. I`m 5`9", 146 lbs and I easily removed it by myself. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I had it up and running in about 15 mins. The touchscreen function worked well and was easy to follow. It synced to my wifi quickly. I didn`t have to enter the serial number, only my password. I also loved that it came with 2 sets of ink cartridges. FUNCTIONALITY: The printing is very clear and crisp. I had no problem printing from my computer. I did, however, have a bit of a challenge printing from the app on my phone. The app was one of the features I was excited the most about. I often use my phone more than my computer. The app is a little simplistic and inefficient. I printed an email and it came out in giant print. There was no option to resize the image. I did like that it had the option to print 4 to a page printouts. I also tried to print a pdf from the app. I kept getting an error message. I finally had to turn the printer off and on again to let it reconnect to my wifi even though it showed that it was already connected. The touchscreen is very easy to use, although it is a bit small. I have small fingers so it is not an issue for me. Someone with chunkier fingers may find it challenging. The paper loading tray is very easy to use. It even has a separate feed in tray for envelopes. I have not used that feature yet so I don`t know how easy it is to actually print on envelopes.STORAGE: This product is a lot bigger than I`m used to in a home multi-function printer. It is more of an office type equipment. That being said, it sits easily on top of a computer desk in my family room. It is light enough to move without any issues. But, it does take up the entire desk.Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone that has a small home business or needs to print a lot from home. For your average home printing needs, this product is bigger than I would have purchased on my own.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I`m quite happy with this printer. It works quickly and efficiently. The ink comes out sharp and vivd on paper. My favorite features are the 3.7" touch-screen and the duplex printing. The touchscreen is very responsive and makes the printer easy to use. I love being able to save paper without manually printing on both sides! The product instructions are incredibly clear and simple to follow. It was easy to set up and install the ink cartridges. This is one of the best printers I`ve ever used. It meets all of my expectations and more. I haven`t had any paper jamming issues as of yet, so that`s a plus. It is a bit on the bulky side and quite heavy so mobility is not really an option. It is pretty much a heavy duty office printer to use at home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brothers BV printer was easy to set-up and connect to my PC. Usually we use HP printers, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the printer to be fairly easy to set up and to connect to our wireless devices. My favorite features include the touch screen display and the short-cut feature (which allows you to pre-program your frequently used print jobs). Though we don`t typically print pictures from our PCs, I had to give the photo print a try. AWESOME!!! I used a USB flash drive, plugged it directly into the printer and my pictures were viewable on the display screen of the printer! The quality of the photo was good and the time it took to print was impressive. Since my PC is sometimes slow to start up, it was SO VERY convenient for our employee to come in from the field and print his reports directly from the printer just by plugging in his flash drive. It handles larger jobs pretty well, too. For us, a large job is 50 to 60 pages, which we only need to do once or twice a month. It printed fast and the tray was able to hold the job (no mess on the floor with papers out of order). As a small business owner, the Brother BV works great for our needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. Brother MFC-J5845DW XL InkJetWe were in need of a new all-in-one printer for our home office, and were able to try this Brother printer out. First impression was that the printer was *very* large, bigger than our previous all-in-one printer. My guess is that this is due to this being a more "commercial" printer than our previous printer. To give you some comparison, this is about 2.5 times the size of our HP printer. This meant it wouldn`t fit on desk space normally used by our printer. This might not be a problem if you`re using this in a larger office space, but my husband works from home, and his "office" is just one of our spare bedrooms. This made things a bit of a challenge to move around. We still haven`t found the "perfect" place for it, and it`s just temporarily sitting on a tray table next to the computer desk. Out of the box, this printer was very easy to set-up and install. I`m pretty confident with computers and setting things up, so I didn`t do a full reading of the manual before installation. I don`t think this hindered me in anyway. The printer connected pretty quickly to our wireless network, and after entering in the date/time and network password, it was connected. It also was discovered very quickly by all of the computers on our network, and we were printing within minutes, without adding additional software. Actually scanning from printer to computer took a few extra minutes, because I didn`t realize I needed to download the specific Brother software before being able to use scanning capability. The download process & registration process was straightforward, with the computer prompts walking me through everything. Once that software was added, we were up and running with scanning. For both printing & scanning, the documents came out quickly, true to color, and were dry to touch by the time the printing was completed. The faxing capability was pretty convenient as well. The tray on top was easy to load, and the little indicators let you know how to place the sheets. The fax took a few minutes to send, but I`m chalking that up to the receiver`s network being busy/a little slower. All in all, this is quite the work horse printer. It`s definitely a bigger and more capable printer than your traditional home all-in-ones. This works for us since my husband works from home, and we print a lot of things for the kids` school projects, events, meetings etc... A bigger printer makes sense for us. If you just need the occasional boarding pass or shopping list printed, this is probably too much machine for you. The ink cartridges are a little bigger than our old printer, but as I haven`t yet replaced them, I can`t truly speak to how long they will last. Very good printer, pleased with the output. My main concern is just finding the right spot for it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I`ve been using my Brother MFC-J5845DW XL InkJet all-in-One printer for about a week now and can already confidently say this is the best printer I`ve ever owned or used before.Setting it up out of the box was simple. It does recommend lifting it from the box with two people, but everything else is simple to do on your own. Instructions included a full reference guide and a quick setup guide. The quick setup was very easy to follow and included helpful pictures. Most things were very intuitive and I was able to do the process speedily by myself. The longest part of the setup was the driver installation on my computer, but that was more so because I chose to download the drivers through the website rather than from the included CD and my internet download speed was running slow that day.The best features in my opinion are the large paper tray that allows you to print up to 11"x17" ledger pages, the provided ink that will supposedly last 1-2 years at ~300 pages a month making this a great deal in the long run, and the ink gauge that shows you approximately how many pages you can print until the color runs low. While those are my favorite it also has many other features including the typical print/scan/copy/fax operations found in all-in-one printers, ability to print from mobile, touchscreen display, the fast speed for printing, and the additional MP tray that allows you to print on thicker/heavier weight paper and envelopes. Thus far I have not run into any typical types of printer trouble, like paper jams or wireless connection issues so I`m very happy. My previous printer from a different brand was of similar size and also an all-in-one, but right away I had constant issues with the old printer regarding the paper tray being very difficult to open and "sticky" along with the ink not properly coming out so the images were always off colored and tinted mostly yellow even after countless attempts to fix it and repair the printhead. This printer from brother is much better and doesn`t have any quality issues like my previous printer. The only function I would want added to this printer is duplex copying/scanning, but I can easily do without and it doesn`t affect my standard use.Overall I`m very pleased and feel like this is a great functional printer that would suit any home office or small business needs as it`s designed to do. It`s intuitive and has all the functions and speed that would be required for all scales of print jobs to fit anyone`s needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.Assembly: This product came out of the box easy to put together. The ink cartridges that are in there were easy to pop into place. Once I set that up, all I had to do was get the machine connected to my WiFi, computer, and phone for use.Instructions: The instructions were quite clear on how to get the computer online. The challenge I had was pushing through the buttons on the screen to find what I was looking for. This was mostly a function of finding which place housed which instruction since there are many ways to connect this machine to a computer or phone for use. Overall, I felt they were clear but it just takes time getting used to the machine and where things are in the user panel. What it does well: What I really liked about this product was the multi-functionality. I was able to get in there and try lots of different features which was fun to play with. I`ve had similar multi-function printers before with a scanner and such but not one that had a scanner, fax, printer, and the other functions like sending documents to a phone. I loved being able to connect various computer programs to the printer and get clear, fast prints every time. I mostly use Word but I use other programs, .pdf files, etc. and was happy to see that I can get lots of different types of these connected and sent to my phone or computer, email, etc. Some challenges: Honestly, I`m a simple user. I don`t need a lot of functions at the moment. There are times I need to scan, times to upload to my phone. I honestly used these more with this printer than I have in the past because it was there and accessible. I can see where people may be turned off by too MUCH interface and functionality because it may be too overwhelming to know how to use it all. The scanning to my phone did not work the first time, but for some reason I had hit `Japanese translation.` When I switched the scanned document to upload in English, all was good. Go figure!Overall impression: Overall, very impressed with the quality of this machine. In similar pricepoints I`ve found there are not as many functions. Because I`m looking to build a home office and do more writing at home with printing lots of documents, I found this to be a great, user-friendly printer.
